“The burglars went through my dresser upstairs in the bedroom and stole some old coins and jewelry and a set of my dad’s handcuffs. When I called the cops they came up and looked but did not check for fingerprints anyplace or collect blood samples from the bedroom window. My dad was a Cop at Sultan, Washington Police Department, and about 1990 he was killed in a terrible collision with a drunk driver one night while he was on patrol.
