Chapter 16
Jenna Edwards had just arrived home about noon after working the 5:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. shift part time at the Keystone Bakery in Wheatland when her cell phone rang.
She looked at the Caller I.D. which read “Unlisted Caller”.
“What the hell,” she said to herself, another telemarketer wanting to sell me something, so she hung up the phone.
Almost immediately the phone rang again with the same Unlisted Caller showing on her phone screen.
Finally, she picked up her cell phone and answered it, expecting the usual sales pitch, but instead she recognized the soft voice of Ryan Bates.
“Hey baby, do you want to hang out today and maybe go for a hike on the trails by Soap Lake? That sounds like a great way to spend the afternoon and maybe more than a hike would be in store.”
“Yes
