Chapter 29
Othello Police Department received a 911 call of a dead body located behind a fence in the back yard of a residence.
The officers immediately recognized the dispatched location as a Norteno Gang drug house (Trap house) from past Othello citizen complaints of drug activity.
The 911 caller had identified himself as Jose Fillipe with his home address and phone number.
Othello officers Jay Simmons and Rob Ethridge coordinated their approach and each parked their patrol vehicles in the alleyway, effectively blocking all vehicle traffic into the alley at both ends.
A lone figure was standing in the alley, and as they got closer, an older Hispanic man was nervously standing near a fence with boards missing in several locations.
