Chapter 28
The officers standing along the Canal Road could hear sirens wailing in the distance and several minutes later a van with Canyon County Sheriff Dive Team emblazoned on the side arrived.
Three Sheriff Deputies stepped out of the van.
All were wearing light t-shirts with the Dive Team slogan on the left front portion of the t-shirt and were all wearing shorts.
Sgt. Scott Van Dissel stepped from the group and greeted the on-scene officers.
“We have called for the Chelan County Sheriff helicopter to respond to locate the submerged vehicle,” he said.
“They should be here in about 20 minutes, they were called out before we left,” he continued.
“This no longer an emergency so no reason to risk injury for my divers mucking around in the dark water,” he continued.
