Chapter 50
They entered through the front door of the Sunrise Cafe and stood by the counter until a busy waitress saw them.
The attractive waitress was in her middle forties and very friendly.
Her name tag with the name “Rita” was pinned to her clean, crisp uniform left shirt pocket.
She sat them down at a booth and handed them menus, then told them she would be right back with water and coffee.
Rita came back with two glasses of water and two steaming cups of strong dark coffee.
“What can I get you, gentlemen?” she said as she got out her order pad.
They placed their order and after a few minutes Rita returned with their breakfasts served on large platters.
Rita stood and chatted with them, which gave them the opportunity to identify themselves.
