Hello, reader! This is a great start for our story. You have caught at a really good time. I was just picking up my book, a very special book that I think you'll enjoy. My most favorite love story of all time. There are so many good love stories out there, but this one I can't take my eyes off. My name is Meg, narrator of this lovely book I'm about to read to you all. I won't talk too long about myself because I'm sure you'll want to know what happens in the story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Are you with me? Okay, let's jump in!
As so many generations go by, traditions stay the same, or there is a little bit of change in them, but is mostly the same. In some families you must keep tradition sacred, ad rules must be followed and laws mustn't be broken. Back in Elalelie, ( Ee-la-lee-lie), a country, which held a great kingdom called Brunswick and the first king to ever give it a title was a king named Joel Samuel Jedidiah. The his son came: John Kaleb Carl Jedidiah. Then his son after that and his son after that. The late king, Jonathan Cassander Daniel Jedidiah passed on, leaving his twenty year old son, Cassander Zechariah Jedidiah the second to rule his orderly kingdom. Cassander is a very smart king, clever in fact. Strategic, knowledgeable about the land, confident in all things he does, decisive, strong, unforgivingly stubborn, assertive and aloof. His father was very strict with him and gave harsh discipline, but that's not to say that he didn't love him. He loved him like any father could. But his duties as king were consistent and he couldn't be seen as soft or kind. He needed to be a serious and devoted judge and lead his people accordingly and follow passed down laws from his forefathers. Of course, Cassander had his own plans in mind and way of his own. He didn't intend for his father to die, at least after he turned twenty-one, not that he wanted him alive any longer but he didn't want him dead either. The funeral was quick but as memorable as any other but a little more grander because, well, he was the king. Cassander didn't cry, he cried only once and that was when his mother died, and that was a long time ago. A time no one talked about. Other than that, if something devastating happened Cassander looked emotionless about it. After it would be over he would continue living like a human being and forget about it, but no one else did. They carried it heavily on their shoulders like they were carrying a sack of flour. Whenever Cassander saw their sad faces he would grow agitated and demand his people not to cry or not to look so glum and forget about it. They had work to do. They didn't have time to sit around all gloomy like and pity their empty lives. Most respected Cassander but some feared him. He had quite a temper but such a temper could be tamed by a gentle spirit. Cassander had a wife named Valentina. She was the most gorgeous woman in all of Brunswick. Her eyes, dazzling, her smile, charming and seductive. Before she was engaged to Cassander, she had four proposals but the king had ti have her. Jealousy rose up in town but there was nothing any of the men could do about it. The red fox had been captured: the prize had been won. Cassander showed her off to his audience and indeed she was the most beautiful but her heart was not the same. For show, she was anything the king wanted her to be, but this very one night, when the king and all his nobles were having a banquet in the banquet hall, he called for Valentina to come and dance for him and his nobles. The servant that he sent to fetch her, came back and reported to him very nervously that queen Valentina refused to come. I should let you know that it is forbidden to refuse the king when he sends for you and that you should never do it. The king, very angry at this, sent his servant back to her room once more. The servant came back again with no Valentina. Cassander was outraged and immediately broke his engagement with her and banished her from the palace.
