Postponement
The officer brings me to a room and tells me someone will be with me in a moment. I hold the file close to my chest. Different thoughts are racing through my head. Is Alex, okay? Has John tried to hurt him? Will they let him go after I present everything to them? Is the evidence I have enough to set Alex free? Two officers walk in and sit across from me. One begins speaking, “Hello, Frau Miller. It is wonderful to see you again. Do you have some evidence regarding the case of Herr Senn?” I feel myself shaking.
