NIKUMI’S POV

“Good evening, my children.” He said.

“Good evening, Nao-sama.” We answered in unison. He clapped his hand and everyone stands up and so I did the same. “Margaret. Welcome.”

“You grace is immeasurable, Nao-sama.” I said and bowed.

“Alright. Let’s start, Margaret.” He said and signalled Juvia. Juvia bowed first and walk closer to him. He whispered some words but we can’t her what he ‘s saying aside from Juvia who is standing beside him.

After he said something to Juvia, she grab the jar that she laced in below the ledge and now she is walking closer to me. She stood beside me holding the jar when Nao-sama speak again.

“This ceremony is for Margaret. To see if she is capable of anything that qualifies to be part of the Elites.” He said. He stood up and put his palms together and opens it and pointed at everyone like he is presenting the eleven demons and me. “Mito will not be joining us tonight. I sent him to do an important errand.” He pointed the space between the big guy and the other one with a fan. “Elite twelve of the blood moon, we’ll be welcoming one additional elite.” he said while clapping and grinning.

“But the twelve elite are for twelve members only, what will happen if we will add another one Nao-sama?” Kiku-san asked in his low voice.

“It’ll be still the Elite twelve of the blood moon. We need to eliminate one of you and replace it with Margaret.’’ He said it very plainly like he was just stating a fact. “And when we say ‘eliminate’ we mean to kill.” I gulped. I can’t believe I heard it. I can’t believe I’m hearing it.

I looked at every single one them. Edward and Cindy are in their usual mood. Kiku, Shino and Millen are just plainly listening but the orange guy and the big man is grinning. The guy with a fan and the girl with chains ae grinning but they are grinning at me. Seems like none of them are scared who will be eliminated or will be killed. Juvia is staring in front as well. She didn’t react or trembled. I’m thee only one who thinks that this is crazy. What he is saying and what he wanted to happen is totally crazy. He call this family and He calls them children but he’s willing to replace any of them of kill them just like that.

“What’s inside the jar that Juvia was twelve piece of sticks with all of you names and whoever she’ll pick will be eliminated. “ my knees trembles even more. Why the hell I should be picking the on who will die? Why me? I can’t do this. I looked at Edward and he is looking at me. I saw his hand signalling that I’ll be okay. I shook my head while Nao-sama is not looking at my direction. He curved his eyebrow and I saw his jaw tightened. He will yell at me for sure if we are not in this situation right now. I can’t help it. I’m really nervous. “But of course will let you die just like that, my child, whoever the lucky one. You can still keep your seat and hold on to your life if you can kill Margaret.”

Edward’s eyes widened and looked at me immediately and here I am, my hole body is shaking in fear. How can I possibly survive if I’m going to fight for my life against one on them. My lips are shaking and I can’t utter a word. I think I’m going to fall on my knees because of the nonstop shaking of my whole body.

“If there’s no objections, let’s begin tonight’s ceremony.” He said and sit down on his chair. No one utters a single word. While everyone is excited, Edward is looking at me and his eyes is full of concern. ‘’Juvia.”

“Yes, Nao-sama.” She said and faced me. “You pick one stick.” She said to me.

“Y-yes.” I said. My hand is shaking and I can’t stop my self. I gulped again. I feel like I’m sweating.

“Is there somthing wrong, Margaret?’ The manly and scary voice asked me. I looked at his direction and shook my head.

“N-nothing, Nao-sama.” I said and pull one stick from the jar. I held it firmly after I pull out my hand. Juvia put don the jar and placed her hand in front of me with her facing upward, asking for the stick I picked.

‘’It’s okay, relax.’’ She whispered. I nodded and handed the stick over to her. “You need survive if you want to stay alive.” That’s the last thing she said and turn her back.

“Juvia?”

“Yes, my lord.” Juvia flipped the stick and read what is written on it. “Elite’s Tenth seat, Zaiji Yaiba.” She said. I don’t who exactly it was but I have a bad feeling about this.

“Zaiji onii-san, good luck.” Cindy said while dribbling the tamari. She looked at me and she’s smiling widely. “Good luck, Margaret onee-chan. (Onii-san is used to address a big brother or older close friend and Onee-chan is used for female, older sister in the family or older female close friend )

“I’m going to break you bones.” He is the big guy! This can’t be. He took a step forward and sway his butcher’s knife. I gulped again. I want to cry. I’m one unlucky demon here. “I’m going to chop every part of your body and throw it out on the sunlight.” He said while grinning.

“You can do it, Margaret-san.” Kiku and Shino said. Both of them is looking at me with a smile and cheering me up. Millen just smirked at me.

“My, my, my. I thought it’ll be me. But that’s okay, I’m sure she doesn’t stand a chance against Zaiji.” The girl with chains commented while laughing. She licked her lips and winked at me. “Poor girl.”

“I think she’ll make it.” The guy with eyes on his palm said.

“I don’t think so.” He said while giggling. He is the guy with a fan and flowery black kimono.

“Margaret-chan, you can do it!” Edward shouted in his very cheerful attitude that he usually shows in front of them.

I can’t answer him, any of them. I’m glad that some of them are favouring me like Edward, Shino Kiku and Cindy but most of them don’t really like me. Most of them are looking down on me like what I’m doing right now to my self. I don’t think I will make it. I don’t think I will live if he’s my opponent. He is freaking huge and armed.

Juvia went back to her position and just nodded her head.
