Chapter 14

Hatori’s Point of View

“Boy! Just surrender yourself and be my dinner. You don’t need to suffer anymore.” The demon said while walking towards him. He demon was able to follow h because of his wound. He ignored the demon and he prepared himself to any possible attack from it. He is wondering if Akuma is still alive or doing okay. He hope that Akuma survive, at least there is someone who can still look for his sister if ever he’ll die tonight.

He wanted to hit his own head on the thought of dying but he can’t hep it. He knows that he don’t stand a chance to a demon. They are strong, formidable and huge. There’s a big difference on their size and strength. He badly want to save Nikumi on his own but he can’t even fight a single demon. These types of demons are the weakest in their classification according to Akuma but how in the world can Hatori defeat an stronger demon if he is about to die in the hands of this one.

“Hey! Brat! “ Akuma calls. Hatori sighed in relief when Akuma arrived alive and in one piece.

“Thank goodness you’re alive!” he said and almost cried in happiness.

“Tch. That one is weak.” Akuma replied but he is too exhausted. Hatori wanted to argue with how he belittle the other one but he just smiled. He knew that Akuma is too tired so he’ll keep the argument for later. For now he needs to survive.

Akuma fell asleep on the ground after saying those words. The demon attacked Akuma out of anger we he heard that the other demon was defeated but before it even reach Akuma, Hatori hit him with pebble on the head.

“Hey!”

“Bastard!! How dare you!” The demon went on rampage and attacked him. Because of his adrenaline he threw his axe towards the demon head. He hit the neck and it’s rolled over on the ground.

Hatori was shocked on what happened, he can’t believe that he actually did that and a headless demon is still standing iin front of him.

“What the hell!?” he whispered when he noticed that the body is still standing and the arms are moving. He took a few steps away from the body.

“BOY! I can still regenerate!” the demon said while laughing. He look at it’s head. It’s still talking and alive. The body started to move closer to him so he did not waste chance. He run between it’s long legs and he kicked the head away from the body. The body fall on the ground but it’s still moving and trying to stand up again. Hatori’s is still trembling in fear but he manage to kick it again. He was able to get the axe that fall into the ground. The head immediately regenerates and a pair of new arms grow from it. It attacks by crawling on the ground and aiming for Hatori.

Hatori hit the head with firewood that he picks up on the ground along with the axe but the demon is determined to bite Hatori’s neck. It’s arms was holding Hatori’s both arms and he cant move now. When the demon is about to bite his neck he immediately hit the Demon’s head using his own forehead. The demon did not expect that silly move from Hatori. When the demon lost it’s focus for a while, Hatori took the chance to hit it using his axe again and with the last strength he got, he hit the head throwing his axe towards t.. It was pinned on the tree and the demon was stocked in it.

“Food!! Damn you, brat! Come here, let me eat you! Just please let me eat you.” The demon said while extending it’s arms and trying to reach Hatori.

Hatori falls in to the ground because he is too exhausted. He needs to catch his breath he gasped when a huge headless body is about to smash him. He closed his eyes cause he can’t move anymore but there nothing landed on him. He felt a cold liquid dropping on his cheeks. He opened his eyes and that’s the time he was able to see the headless body of the demon falling backwards.

“What happened?” He whispered. He tried to stand up but his s to weak to do so. He manage to sit on the ground and he found a masked man standing in front of him.

“You are one lucky kid to survive.” He commented.

“Thank you, Ojii-san.” Hatori said.

“Kid, you need to finish it.” The man said pointing it’s sword to the head of the demon which is pinned at the tree.

Hatori didn’t get what he said at first but the man explained that the demon will only die if the head will be smashed or set in to fire. Hatori understand what he mean but he doesn’t have the courage to kill the demon knowing that before it became man eating demons, they were humans before. His hand are trembling he doesn’t think that he can kill it. He knew that this demon devours human but he can’t help but to pity it. The masked man stared at Hatori waiting for he’s move but until the sun rises he is still standing in front of the demon holding a big rock on his hands.

Hatori stares at the demon while it’s turning into ash because of the sunlight.
