USHIO’S POINT OF VIEW It’s unusual for a demon and human to get along but looking at these two makes me wonder if it’s really possible for two different group to work together and be friends. Before, when man eating demons doo not exist I was able to witnessed that kind of event. I was just a young boy s I can remember. Demons who looks like Akuma-kun are living freely with us in our village. My father back then was a farmer and a demon always tag along with him. One day my father did not went home and my mother asked me to look for him in the middle of the night out of concern. Back then I wasn’t afraid to go since our village is peaceful and demons serve as our allies if anything happens. I check the rice field hoping that I could find my father and I did. I found him lifeless and a demon is with him, consuming his blood while he laying down on the muddy field. I’ve witnessed it clearly and I knew that it’s a demon I saw. I started to doubt demons intention from that day my father died. I can recognize the demon I saw that night but It was different so I did not blame the demons around our village and I did not fear or suspect them. I just don’t trust them since they are still demons. I thought that my father was the only victim of the demon I saw but as the days and months pass our village lost a lot of innocent farmer. I tried to convince my self that it’s not the demons who lives in our village but the villagers put the blame on them. At a young age I’ve seen most of them that has been hunted by humans and chased away from the village, the number of deaths increased starting that day and I started to believe that demons are our enemies, the village’s enemy and as well as the humanity. I joined the demon slaying corps for one reason, I will hunt down the demon I saw that night when I was a boy. I reach my thirties but still I wasn’t able to meet that demon, now I’m old and still I wasn’t able to find my father’s killer. Hatori Sasaki, this boy has the same goal like me. I failed when I was in her age and now I still fail to fulfil my goal. I wonder what he will become if I will let him join the organization but one thing is for sure, his determination and compassion will eventually make him reach higher and farther. He is too kind to kill a sinful demon but he is full on courage and determination. Maybe because of the demon with him and his sister that he needs to bring back. Master Ushio, I apologize for not visiting you recently but I want you to know that I am doing just fine. I hope you well and I’m looing forward on seeing you soon. Pardon e for making you read my letter instead of saying this to you personally but please accept this child as your student. He is accompanied by a demon but for some reason the demon is harmless and unusually strange from the other demon I encountered so far. This boy has a very keen sense of smell like you, he might be the successor you are looking for. Thank you in advance, Master. Please consider it, stay safe. Soma Hatake Soma’’s letter keep on flashing in my head so I purposely took a detour to think about it. I can see that Akuma the demon and Hatori has a bond and unusual vibe. I was able to confirm they are both comfortable with each other. I do not hate demons, I don despise them but my duty is to protect humans by slaying demons. But this demon is harmless and do not eat humans. I think I can consider it and to see how far this kid will go with this demon alongside him. The demons are former humans who sold their humanity in exchange for power, they feed on humans and possess super natural abilities such as super strength, magic and regeneration. Those demon that they encounter last night are just mere demons who are able to regenerate they body if was cut. Demons can only be killed if they're decapitated with weapons crafted from an alloy known as Sun Steel, injected with poison extracted from holy flowers, or exposed to sunlight. Last night Hatori decided to just wait for the un to rise because he doesn’t have the will and courage to kill even thought it’s in front of him and completely off of guard. The Demon Slayers, on the other hand, are entirely human, however, we employ special breathing techniques, known as breaths, which grant us superhuman strength and increased resistance. But these techniques are can only be possibly earn via training and total concentration. “Let’s go, Hatori-kun, Akuma-san.” I said after I get on my knees. They stop playing in the water but still arguing and yelling to each other. They immediately followed me. “Yes, Ushio-san!” He said cheerfully. “You’re slow, dimwit!” Akuma. Now I wonder if this kid, Hatori, can become the demon slayer I picture him to be.
