CHAPTER 14 I didn’t go back to my usual life the next day. It wasn’t an ordinary Monday. The day spent with Peter had not broken my routine and my usual thoughts. Indeed, the opposite seemed to have happened. It was the usual life that broke the persistent thought I had, that was focused on him from the day before. I made an effort not to dwell too much on Peter’s image while he was playing, writing or lying in bed ignoring me. At the university, not even Gregor Jackman’s presence, as always wagging his tail behind Frey, could irritate me.
