I met Lila in her room sitting on her bed with a book she wasn't reading.
She looked up when I walked in, "hey."
"Hey," I closed the door and sat beside her. "You okay?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" She set the book down. "You're the one leaving tomorrow to attack the deadliest assassin."
"I'll be fine."
"You don't know that."
"No but I'm choosing to believe it anyway," I bumped her shoulder with mine. "You'll be safe here, Marcus is defending this place so nothing to fear."
She was quiet for a moment then she said, "I'm not worried about me."
"I know."
"You're going after Aldric and you're acting like it's just a regular day."
"It's not just a regular day," I looked at her, "but I can't go into this thinking I'm going to lose. That doesn't help anyone."
