Chapter 12

As soon as I got away from the phone. It was as if I heard the sound of a dropped microphone due to the loudness of the shout. My head buzzed because of that deafening shout. [ALLISOOOOOOOON!!!] [ALLISOOOOOOOON!!!] [ALLISOOOOOOOON!!!] My vision suddenly darkened when I heard a very familiar voice. [ALLISOOOO—] I immediately ended the call. And peacefulness was finally resumed to this quiet mansion— *CRIIIIIIIIIIIIING!* Son of a gun! I took a deep breath. I calmed myself before answering the call again. "Wha—" [ALLISOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO—] Again, I ended the call. My face deadpanned as I looked at my phone, ringing again, and have no plans to answer it this time. It's up to him. That jerk just really never fails to get on my nerves. He just so loved annoying the sh*t outta me. Decided to shutdown my phone. I don't care about the reason why that guy is calling. Make sure the bill is gone. If you're curious, who's calling. His name's Matthew. He's nothing important. He was just one of my classmates form the previous institution I graduated from. So you can just forget about him. I went back to my room to get dressed. I thought about wandering around first, after all I'm alone here in the mansion. We have no assistants. Mom wanted us to be independent, and to know a few things about household chores. Although, there are caretakers who come to the mansion every week to clean the entire house. I just wore a simple denim shorts, a white hoodie, and a black hiking sandals. I made my hair into a simple messy bun, and I was good to go. I only brought my wallet and cellphone then I left the mansion. I didn't plan to hail a cab. I decided to just walk to wherever my feet take me. It also serves as an exercise to enhance my stamina. I also had to walk quite a distance from the house to the gate, so it took me more than an hour to walk before I finally got out of our territory. I don't have a direction to take while walking around. I also pass a lot of people who are walking like me. The others stopped while staring at me. Maybe, because of my extremely pale skin, I was white as snow which is very different from the complexion here in Country P which is a bit tanned. I was diagnosed as an albino, but only my skin was affected by the lack of melanin in my body. As for the rest of my body parts, they are normal and I don't get dazzled or my skin hurts because of the sun's rays. "Mommy! There's a fairy!" Suddenly heard a child scream. I turned in the direction of the voice and saw a girl pulling her mother's skirt while one of her hands was pointed in my direction. I glanced at my back. There is no one. "Mommy. Baby wants to be like that beautiful sister, can baby be a fairy like that beautiful sister when baby grows big?!" The girl asked her mother with a wide smile on her lips and her eyes still shining. Probably, the 'baby' is the way she addresses' herself. The girl's mother turned in my direction and was surprised to see me. I wondered. Am I next to the fairy they say? Shh! Silly. Fairies don't exist. They're merely fictional. A product of humans imaginative mind. "Yes! Baby can become just like that beautiful sister, if baby eats vegetables. So baby needs to eat the vegetables mommy gave baby, understand?" Alo of the mother. The girl snorted at what she heard. "But... veggies are bitter. Baby doesn't like bitter foods. Baby likes sweets!" It immediately protested. However, he suddenly looked in my direction again and doubts filled his face. "Alright! Baby will eat veggies!" He suddenly promised and clenched his fist. Then its clenched fist was pointed in my direction again. "Baby can be just like that beautiful sister if baby eats veggies then baby will eat veggies!" The girl's mother laughed at her daughter's act while gently stroking her hair. "Mr. Mommy is happy because baby is going to be a fairy." It is a happy promise to the child. The girl smiled widely. "Yes! Baby will be a fairy!" The girl clapped. I smiled a little. It's really good to be young. I walked again and wandered around. I have passed many establishments that are each raising and expanding their buildings. There was another establishment that caught my attention. It was a well-known brand of jewelry. Delgado's Luxury Gold. This jewelry store is known for producing valuable, and rare jewelry and is also only exclusive to that store which made it very famous. Furthermore, the store is also known for being fair and just. They don't choose customers, even if you were in a rags clothing they'll still welcome you with a warm smile. The store doesn't look to the customers' standards and classifications which is the beauty of this store. Stores with this principle are rare. The others are judging your whole personality before you even enter. Decided to enter. Plan to buy mom jewelry, because she loves shiny things. Although, mom has a whole lot of different kinds, value, and rarity of jewelry in her collections. But I just want to buy him. I have money, besides, there shouldn't always be a reason why you want to buy someone, right? When I entered the jewelry store, the attendant outside greeted me. I also greeted him back then someone from my staff immediately attended. "Good morning Miss?" The staff immediately greeted me. "Allison," I replied. "Miss Allison, I'm Mari. The new arrivals are here," she said and immediately led me to the new arrivals. I saw different sets, and kinds of jewelry within the many glass boxes. They're all breathtaking and exquisite, but none of them caught my attention. I'm sure mom already has a lot of beautiful jewelry. I want something simple. A simpler one that matches mom's temperament. I continued to wander around until I noticed a piece of jewelry that was a bit overshadowed by other jewelry. I came closer to it. It was a necklace with a gold chain, and a stone in a teardrop shape was hanging on the middle. I don't know why, but it caught my attention. "I'll take this," I promised Mari. Mari smiled at him and nodded. "Right away Miss Allison—" "I want this one," I heard a shrill voice suddenly push me from the side and changed my place. You can see if its long fingernails are artfully pointed at the chosen jewelry. "Your choice is good madam. The stone of this necklace was the rarest gemstone in the whole world: Painite. Its rarity means it has a very high value. It was recorded that there were only less than 2 dozen known gemstones, by the year 2004. And it is said that it was decreasing every several years." The female staff who supported her gave a happy response. He didn't even criticize the woman. I frowned. "Excuse me miss, but I was the one who saw it first." I said to the woman who pushed me. It turned in my direction and when it looked at my face it stopped for a moment before raising an eyebrow at me. It was a middle-aged woman with different accessories dangling on her body. She also has a very thick make-up and a very red lips. Which made her look like a clown. It insulted me. "You? Are you kidding?" She said incredulously. He laughed sarcastically. "Do you know the value of a painite per carat? You definitely don't. It is somewhere between 50,000 to 60,000 in US Dollars. Looking at this painite it is definitely worth a few carats which means a few more dozens of dollars. How how much is it in pesos? Bet, you can't even afford a single carat much less a few more." Her tone condescending and looked at me as if I'm a beggar. My forehead wrinkled even more. I don't care how much it costs. As long as I took a liking to it, I'm willing to buy it no matter the price. The supporting staff turned to me. "I'm sorry miss. There is no discrimination in this shop, but we prioritize the customers who can afford the jewelry here. I don't want to waste your time and madam's time if you can't afford to buy it, so if possible let's not make the trouble worse." Albeit, her tone was respectful but I could feel the sarcasm in her words. The girl with thick make-up laughed and looked at me from head to toe. "Because you're a beautiful boy, but your behavior seems uneducated. You know how to read, don't you? Is there a sign in the shop that you can be a scumbag like you here? There isn't, right?" His insult made my blood boil. These two are really testing my patience. I felt cold and looked at them with no expression.
