Chapter 1
I Love My Bodyguard
“ Tires screeched to a halt.” Henry couldn't believe his ears as he stopped the car.
I've got eyes for you, Nora said gently to him.
He started the car again without responding to Nora.
I'm talking to you Henry. Stop the car! Nora yelled. Henry obeyed and parked at the safer side of the road.
Join me here, Nora uttered as she patted on the passenger seat near her at the back side of the sleek Benz 23 model.
Thump! Nora pulled him closer before he could close the car door behind him and even feel comfortable on the seat.
I love you, marry me! Nora proposed hesitantly.
I'm just your bodyguard, I am not worth you. I can't afford to maintain your lifestyle. I am sorry mam. Henry replied,
Hush! Nora inched closer and was talking about her lifestyle. I'm a rich lady and will take care of you.
Obviously, Nora doesn't mean anything. She's just blurting. She's heavily drunk. Henry reasoned.
Nora's phone buzzed, it was Mr Smith, her father.
Quickly, Henry got down and resumed the driver's seat and sped off. He was just 10 minutes' drive away from the Smiths Villa.
Nora is the only daughter of Mr and Mrs Smith. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Despite all the pampering from her parents, she loved studying because she had a great IQ. Nora was her grandma's favorite due to her intelligence.
Grandma Lizzy is the highest shareholder in the Smiths group of companies and whoever inherits her will automatically become the CEO. Aside from Nora, she has three grandsons from her two daughters who all eyed the CEO’s title.
Nora, being a lady, and her aunts dissuaded their mother to, rather consider their sons, whilst Mr Smith, Nora’s dad, wouldn't give in to that.
I have a capable daughter to manage the company. Mum was a young lady just like Nora when she was entrusted with that position, and she performed her duties to satisfaction. SMITH GROUPS is still among the top businesses in New York. Mr Smith brings this up at any family meeting when his half sisters start being witty.
Grandma Lizzy supports his argument, but she always reminds them the position will be awarded to the deserving grandchild.
Nora's phone buzzed again, she was fast asleep and lying on the back seat. Henry’s phone rang, his heart sank. It's Mr Smith, what do I tell him? His little brat will put me in hot waters, he thought.
Yes Sir, Henry spoke on the phone.
How is my daughter? She's not answering my calls. Smith asked Henry
She’s in her bedroom, probably sleeping. I watched her retire to her bedroom after Lawyer Arnold had left. He lied and tiny rivulets of sweat formed on his forehead.
Was Arnold there today? Smith questioned.
Yes please, Henry said and nodded confidently because the lawyer was really there, but as Nora slept right away, it was a question to be answered another day.
Arnold was Mr Smith’s lawyer who came around to lecture Nora personally on business laws.
Foster Smith bought the lie and hung up. He had traveled with his business associate for vacation. They needed it and the twenty-one-year-old daughter had to be taken care of by her bodyguard, a driver, a chef and three maid servants.
He initially employed three able bodyguards for his daughter, and she kept complaining of them invading her privacy, so Mr Smith, the understanding and loving father, agreed to only Henry guarding her.
Henry stopped the car at Smith's Villa. The place was dead silent. He prayed that the other workers wouldn't see them. Mr Smith will skin him alive should he notice he lied to him.
He gently turned the car handle at Nora's side and said politely, Mam, we're home now.
Nora, whose snoring could wake a dead man, wriggled her waist to get into a more comfortable position when Henry quickly grabbed her and helped her up as she nearly fell.
Her cat's eyes opened slightly as Henry swept her into his arms. Noticing it was Henry, she gently curled her arms around his neck and closed her eyelids.
Henry was six feet tall and was very fit. Nora weighed about seventy kilograms, and she was no weight for an able bodyguard.
Henry took Nora to her bedroom and packed her for bed. He removed her 7-inch pairs of heels, removed her bracelets and put the watch on her wrist. He drew her closer to his chest to remove the diamond necklace, but it accidentally fell on her cleavage.
Can he be courageous to take it and keep it in her jewel box? He wanted Nora to have a comfortable sleep and growing up, his mum once told him, jewels on your body don't give you a peaceful sleep.
Honestly, he also loved Nora, but they were not in the same league. Nora swiftly grabbed the collar of her shirt and pulled him closer as he also dipped his hands between his breasts and the necklace.
The door flanked open!
