As we were walking back to the mansion, neither of us said much. We just walked, hand in hand, looking at the moon and the stars. The houses around us were all quiet with black windows, their residents probably asleep by now. We were almost at the mansion when Matthew stopped, his fingers still entwined with mine, forcing me to stop as well. I turned to face him, and my breath caught in my throat. Matthew was looking at me like he had never looked at me before. The love and adoration in his eyes made me blush, and I had a hard time looking at him. I bumped my forehead against his chest, trying to cool the burning in my cheeks.
