“So what do you have for me, boys?” Derning asked his two top investigators.
“You’ll be interested in this, Chief. We got lucky. Forensics was able to match a paint sample from the rental car’s damaged fender to Marchman’s car.”
“Good. That puts him at the scene. What about the victim’s computer and cell phone?”
For the next hour and a half, Derning’s investigators shared what they had uncovered from Sean’s laptop and cell phone. Pleased that the investigation was progressing so quickly, Derning was keen on going over all the details.
Sean McNally’s laptop turned out to be a gold mine in that Sean had recorded his findings in Word documents.
