Nala’s Pov The more Shawn wiped my face, the more tears rolled down my cheeks. I heard him sigh. He reached for a handkerchief in his pocket and then began to wipe my eyes with the tiny piece of cloth. Even though I was a mess on the inside, I tried not to show it on the outside because it wouldn’t be polite to do this in front of my son, whom I hadn’t seen this close in years. But I failed woefully and silently hoped that Shawn wouldn’t judge me for it. We stood there; I sobbed for God knows how long, but my son continued to dab my face, and after what felt like forever, I think I calmed down a little. Shawn ushered me to a seat.
