Shawn’s Pov
“Babe!” I heard that familiar voice whisper in my ear.
“Hmmmmmm,” I mumbled with my eyes closed, cuddling my wife closer to my chest.
“Your phone is ringing.”
“I will return the call in the morning,” I whispered, still not opening my eyes.
“It’s been vibrating for a while now. It might be an emergency. Besides, I can't sleep if the sound is persistent.”
I slowly opened my eyes, leaned closer to Cassie, and placed a soft kiss on her forehead while caressing her bump at the same time. Then I rolled to the other side of the bed, and reached for my phone on the nightstand.
I squinted my eyes, trying to make out the caller ID.
It was an unsaved number, but I went and answered anyway.
I brought the device to my ear.
