The Ballad of Crystl

The Death Verse is the universe owned by Voix, the Supreme Being of Death. He made the universe spirally from within. The shell that covers the spiral universe is the domain and the kingdom of death gods called reapers. I am one of those reapers and my name is Crystl. I had the power to manifest weapons to defend my own and attack if necessary. However, there is no equality even for gods like us for there is a hierarchy to where we belong. I belong under the leadership of Condy, one of the masters. Our squad’s name is Blood Tool and I am just one of its common members. Although my power as a grim reaper caught master’s attention and I was just lucky to be trained under his wing. Reapers have abilities that serve as their own power sources. My master’s ability is ‘Weapons Mastery’ and my ability is ‘Manifest Weapons’. Because of my ability, I gained the power to make any kind of weapon I can wield to protect myself against enemies. The only problem I had was that I didn’t know any fighting style to use for the kinds of weapon I could produce and that was where Master Condy came in. Under his wing, I was able to learn the basics with all the kinds of weapons he taught me to use. He even recommended me to Master Precy who had the ability ‘Martial Arts Mastery’ so that even if I can’t use any weapon, I can fight with bare hands for self-defense. It made me realize that being with a squad made my boring life as a reaper of souls more enjoyable. We reapers were just created to reap the souls of the mortals and bring them either to Lady Naxo, the Supreme Being of Life and Reincarnation, or bring them to Lord Voix in Death Verse. Those who do not deserve to live again go to our verse below the Kingdom of Death. Death Verse is a spiral universe where the souls are imprisoned. Once the souls arrive at Death Verse, they are dubbed as criminals. If they change their ways wholeheartedly, there is a possibility that they can be pardoned and be set free. However, if they commit the gravest sin of consuming the soul of their fellow criminals, they will be thrown deeper in prison and they will change into the beings we call cannibals. In fact, these cannibals were the reason that my friends and my master had to die. I remember it clearly how things went down the way it went down…
