The morning was a blessing, everyone was wide and working. It was peaceful with the birds chirping and singing in hymn until someone interrupted and told me on my day off.
‘A Phixes in the north.’ It said to me through my mind so I guess it is telepathy.
Why should I worry about the Phixes? They are just a low-level monsters. The Knights can just take care of it, why does a commander have to go?
‘A Phixes in the north.’
Ugh…shut up.
‘A Phixes in the north.’
‘A Phixes in the north.’
I covered my ears from this annoying voice but it is talking in my mind so I can't shut it up.
‘North…’
‘North…’
It keeps repeating non-stop.
“Alright! I'll go.”
I get up from the bed and wore my Knight uniform then put a coat behind my back with a symbol of our Knighthood.
I went out of the Castle and gathered my Knights.
“Listen up! We are going camping at the North.”
They mumbled, it's their day off too so I can't blame them.
“What the sudden change of plans, Maam?” A Knight asks and his name is Dexi.
“A voice is bothering me.” I said and know they mind it as a joke.
But they exclaimed and said, “Our Maam heard the voice of God!” they cheered.
I trained them through the moon and back but why are they still a brat?
“Attention!” I shouted and they salute. “We're going!”
I took the first step and they followed me to the north.
The north is where the entrance gate, I looked for Phixes and any of their sign
“Ma’am, there's no Phixes outside.” Dexi reported.
“There's nothing here too, Maam.” A knight also reported.
Is the voice lying to me? Where are the Phixes he's talking about?
Then, I felt an outstanding aura coming to me and there were more of them.
I look at my Knight and they are not reacting, which means they didn't notice the aura.
That's why they didn't notice that we got infiltrated because they are hiding their auras. An assassin? But there are more of them. Isn't assassin Work alone and two?
They are coming.
“Knights! Prepare to attack.” I commanded.
The other knights evacuated the people that were here, I can't risk them getting caught in the attack.
I waited for them to come.
Here they are and I was shocked when I saw them their appearance is different from ours. They look like semi-human bunnies. Are they in cosplay? Or are they the Phixes?
If the voice led me here because of them then it’s not a mistake, they are really the Phixes. How did they look like that? Did they get mutated? I could tell that they are high level.
I should be careful.
I take out my bastard sword enchanted with a black quartz. Then, prepare for them to come.
They didn’t stop and continued coming at our way.
“Held your weapons and prepare for my signal.”
How strong are they gonna be?
Here they come…I swing my sword and was about to strike the one in front but It disappeared.
Tsk, illusion.
“Search for them! Be aware that they might disguise themselves.”
The Knights spread and the two are on standby at the gate because they might try to leave with a disguise.
Suddenly, A Phix appeared in front of me and attack me with its furry feet but I defended myself with my sword. I was able to step back and the Phix didn’t run away instead she’s distant away from me.
She’s planning to fight me one on one.
She pulled out her belt and it turn into multiple flexible blades with a sword handle.
That’s hard to handle, is she really sure she’s going to use that?
We approach each other at the same time, I was able to avoid her attack and she is too.
She fights as she dances, every move is flexible that which made me really hard to hit her. Furthermore, I have to avoid the blades especially they attack in a different direction.
We landed on a hit to each other. She’s able to land a hit on my arm and I landed on her cheek.
She wipes the blood on her cheek and licks her finger.
I felt disgusted when she did that.
“What is your intention in coming here to our Kingdom? Are you with the elf?” The elf has been stealing our supplies so my hypothesis is they help the elf in stealing our supplies.
I waited for her to answer but she didn’t utter any single words
That leaves me no choice, I have to contain her. I attack her with my sword and I change my pace than before.
She waves her blades that made me step back.
Her blade looks more than when we first fight. Is it an illusion? She’s threatening me.
If I approach her again, I don’t which blade is real or not.
I have to find an attack that I don’t need to go near her then it is decided, I’m going to use that move.
I eyed one of my knights and he get the message that I’m channeling. The message was to keep a distance away from me or they might get caught.
When the place is already in silence. I did the stance of the move that I’m going to do then focused on activating the charm and once the sword vibrates that means it’s ready.
I look at my enemy for the last time, I conclude that I’m not going to contain her anymore instead kill her.
I held my sword and cut the air sending a strong shockwave at the enemy.
I see her face look surprised. What she’s going to do next? She can’t block it.
She spread both of her hands and close her eyes.
Is she just going to let it hit her? She gave so easily.
The next thing that happens is she uses shield magic to block my attack.
It can’t be, my attack can’t be blocked.
But still, it’s too strong for her because she is struggling to stop it.
Then, I saw something on her back. A dog?
Did she put on a shield because she notice the dog?
She protected the dog.
How sweet.
I teleported behind her and dispelled the magic.
She’s injured and bloody, I ignore her and focus on the dog. I pick it up when I look at her again, she is gone.
“Maam! Are you okay?” Dexi ran at me with a worried look. “You seem fine. Where is the enemy?”
“What enemy are you talking about?” I acted like I didn’t know.
“MAAAM, did you let your enemy escape again?!”
“What enemy?”
“MAAAM! What will I explain to the King that you destroyed the houses again!”
I focus my attention on the dog and didn’t listen to Dexi.
But when I think of it, letting escape that Phix…did I do the right thing? Why would that voice lead me here?
