Chapter 14- Wander

Ester's POV.

Right now, I’m strolling around the Mansion. I can’t believe how fascinating this is! I wonder how rich this Witch is…Wait! This is a Medieval Era, which means there’s a hidden bunker!

I exclaimed from excitement.

I have to find that bunker!

Let’s go treasure hunting!

That treasure will be a good use to me for my adventure. While adventuring, I’m still living in luxury. Instead of renting a room from a bar, I will get a room from a famous inn! I can’t wait!

But, how should I find that bunker?

A blueprint of this mansion!

Of course…then I should head to the library.

Calcifer POV.

I’ve been stalking for a while with this woman.

She’s been dancing weirdly and villainously smiling when excited.

What’s up with her?

She dances like a starfish.

She’s been going around and around in the mansion.

Isn’t she tired?

I almost fall off from the tree that I was hiding when she pointed at me.

Did she find me?

Is Ester powers already complement with her soul?

No… I was wrong.

She wasn’t pointing at me. She’s pointing at nowhere and evilishly laughing.

Don’t laugh while using that face! You dirtying the image of Ester!

She’s totally the opposite of Ester…

I sighed.

Ester POV.

Library~

where are you?~

Here I come!~

A sign board seen beside the right topside of the double door, ‘Library’

How do you do?~

I opened both of the door and a messy, filthy and mountains of books in the floor greeted me.

What the?!

This is the only place I have seen that is filthy!

I’m sure the blueprint isn’t here.

Yeah.

I’m sure...

They will not hide such an important document in this place, right?

Ugh! Huacku it!

I dive in the mountain of filthy books.

I can’t stop coughing and sneezing.

“WAHH!” I shouted when a ball of dust got almost eaten by me.

Cough* Cough*

I throw any books that is getting in my way. Why everything in the Mansion is sparkly clean except for this one?

I’ve been here for almost an hour and I still haven’t found it! Where could she hide it?

If it is an important document where could a person hide it? Hmm…I know a person that she hide it in an unexpected place, should I try to look for it?

I’ve seen the thing where she actually hide her important belongings while strolling in the mansion so, I should look for it.

Just maybe, the Witch, hid it there also.

I dusting off the dust in my clothes and head towards that place.

I already know my way heading there.

The Kitchen Storage.

This is were the foods are keep but somewhat it is empty. Maybe, its because it hasn’t been maintain for many years. And, the ingredients that Rom and Rem used is theirs.

I hope I didn’t bothered them yesterday. Making them cooked for me.

I head toward inside, it was dark and the light cannot get in. The air is moist and cold if not taken care of molds could be appeared anywhere.

Let’s get back to business. I need to find a hidden compartment usually, that person hide it under the cabinet.

I hope Ester also do that kind of thing.

I use my strength to move the cabinet. I don't really think I can do it because of my conditions. But luckily, this body is stronger than I thought.

My intuition is right. After I moved the cabinet, there is a compartment under it.

There's a strange signage scripted on the cover. This the first time seeing it so I don't really know what it was.

I touched it and suddenly, it glows mint green.

I don't really know what happened, the glow disappeared and the door's compartment opened.

Revealing a box…

I opened it and there this ring.

A ring…I haven’t tried to where a ring in my past life because my fingers were to small to fit in.

You could say that I have the hand of a child.

But, in this body the ring could fit in it.

I was about to wear it but I remembered that, magic and curse could happen in this world.

This ring was hidden where no one can find.

There’s must be a reason for it.

First, it must be cursed. Second, this ring must be powerful, a holy treasure something like that and when she’s about to get cursed she hidden it away and this can only be controlled by her. Since, I’m not the Witch, there’s a possibility that it will lost control while I’m wearing it. Lastly, it may belong to someone and should be hidden to him or her.

I put back the ring and moved back the cabinet.

It seems that the blueprint is not here. Where could it be?

I searched it everywhere and only to found out that it is hidden in Witch’s room.

Yes! In her room. Why didn’t I think about it in the first place. I’m too used looking for an object under the Kitchen Storage’s cabinet.

No time to waste, I opened it and revealed a working drawing of the mansion. Here, you can see all the hidden rooms and the one that I’ve been looking for, the bunker.

The shortcut is also been specified.

There’s a hidden door here in the Witch’s room that leads to the bunker. I will use that to reach to my precious treasure.

Lalalalala~ I’m going to be rich~

A loud bang of door is heard throughout the whole mansion.

A gasping and running footstep is coming towards me.

The Witch’s door opened and Rom comes inside with a bleeding arm.

“Witch!” Rem shouted.

“What happened?!” I hurriedly support the body of Rom and Rem that can no longer stand up.

“Please help Rom!” Rem begged. Her voice is also trembling…she maybe also felt the pain.

“I will try my best.”

I carry their body and slowly put it in the bed.

Their wound is deep and the blood keeps on flowing.

If I don't stop it, it will be the cause of their death.

I move my way towards the cabinet to find a clean cloth to put pressure in the wound.

Is there any emergency kit here? Nothing!

What should I do to disinfect the wound?!

Alcohol? Wine? Herbs? Nothing!

Think! What's the other way to disinfect it?

A candle!

I remembered when I was still a child, my mother used a candle to disinfect my wound that got wounded by a rusty nail.

I don't if it’s works but I have to try.

Luckily, there's a candle in the cabinet. Then, all I need is a match.

“Rem, do you have a match?”

“Match? Why are you talking about match in this situation? No, I can't even fight.”

“That's not what I meant! I mean the one that produce fire.” So, the word ‘match’ that have Phosphorus doesn't exist in this world.

“Just say, ‘Phos’.”

Phos, is a Greek word for light. Is Greek also exist in this world?

I used the clean cloth to put pressure in Rom's wound.

He was trembling and moaning in pain. While, Rem is, I haven't heard any sound from her.

“Rom, I need your hand to put pressure in your wound.” From, was sweating bullets and can't open his eyes.

“I can do it.” Rem offered.

“But, you can't.”

“I can also control the body, you know.” I though Rom can only do that.

Rem placed their hand in their wound.

I get the candle and do what Rem told me to say, “Phos.”

But, it didn't work.

“It didn't work.”

“Silly! Of course not. You're not even using magic.” I got confused. How do you use magic?

“Put it near me.”

I put it near to Rem.

Rom's mouth opened and it was Rem voice.

“Phos.”

The candle light up.

“What are you going to do with that?” asked Rem.

“Rem, can you remove your hand from the wound.”

“Why? If you're going to use the candle to make the cloth dry, it’s not going to work.”

“Close your mouth. Because, I'm going to do this.”

“Aaahh!” Rom's body jumped from the pain and they shouted at the same time.

"Stop! It hurts!”Rem.
