Chapter 4

 “We already landed on the airport of the Prism State people,” the pilot announced and I stood up immediately.

“Wohoo!” I shouted in celebration when he announced that but I quickly realize that what I did was so embarrassing as I look around and all the people here which is only a few numbers which made it more embarrassing for me.

They are looking at like I am a patient that escaped the mental asylum.

I wanted to disappear right now, because it is so embarrassing and I think that I cannot take any more of it anymore.

That was my fault.

So, I awkwardly sit again on my seat and my sister is looking at me right now.

“Dude, that was funny,” the annoying man called John? Not sure about his name, said laughing and he is literally invading my private space.

I wanted to push him and slam down that camera on the ground, hoping that I will crush his sd card on the process because he is literally getting on my nerves.

But I won’t.

He is just laughing at me and my sister is laughing with him. Great.

I did a great job entertaining them. I pushed back my glasses since it will fall if I don’t.

Now I am too embarrassed even just standing up here.

“Sis, are you coming or not?” I heard her say because I am busy talking on this airplane floor right now because of that. I slowly looked at her and panned my head from left to right and I am relieved to see that there are no people inside the plane except for her and Alex.

“Yow, let’s go,” he said, but he is not laughing at me or trying to ridicule me of some sort which I am thankful of for him not doing that because that made me feel better even just for a little bit. “Come on,” he said. “My sister is waiting downstairs,” he added and then he turned his back on us to head down.

“Thank you,” I told my sister, I thought she was embarrassed too.

“For what?” she asked me confused.

“For staying even, I did that earlier,” I said and my voice is so... I am just trying not to cry. I saw Cheryl bit her lip, and her eyes smiled.

Then she proceeded to laugh at me.

“Oh sis,” she said. “That was not a big deal, you are too soft on yourself, we are just shocked that’s all,” she added.

“Really?” I asked her.

“Yes, I am sure and even you did something really embarrassing, I will still be here on your side,” she assured me.

Those words made a tear fall from my eyes.

“Really?” I asked her again.

“One hundred percent sure! Because we are sisters forever! Sisters forever,” then she offered me to do a pinky swear with her. I did not hesitate and I hooked my pinky to hers.

“Sisters forever,” I whispered.

“Now calm down, and let’s head down because again, we are late but this time you are the reason,” she jokingly said. It made me laugh a little.

"Oh, come on... you are the one who is always late," I said back to her and she just pouted at me.

"Let's go, I don't want them to wait any longer," then she stood up and grabbed the bag that she is supposed to carry.

I stood up from my seat too, and grabbed my bag that I am supposed to carry.

It did not take us too long to reach the exit of the plane and there we saw the others waiting for us. The annoying guys was so active, while talking to others with a camera on his hand.

Probably, recording a video.

"Hey guys, for the first time ever, we are going inside the Prism State," he said while panning the camera.

His viewers must be immune to dizziness because right now, I think I am about to throw up because of motion sickness. He moves too much.

"They say it’s terrifying but we are about to find out, and if you enjoyed this video, make sure to smash that like button on the ground, and for more videos likes this, make sure to smash that subscribe button for and push that notification bell to keep you updated every time a new video is up," wow, he said that so fast. 

He should be rapper if he talks that fast.

I don't want to gain his attention.

I came down the stairs.

Then Cheryl went towards his boyfriend, and if I am correct, his name is Leo? I don't know I am not that good with names.

"Hey babe," he called to her with his deep voice and he is really handsome. He has the looks and the body that every woman will dream of, but not me...

My sister is very fashionable, that's why it's no wonder for me that she got hooked up with a guy like him.

In my eyes, they are a perfect pair but there is something that I don't like about him, I cannot tell for now but call it as a big sister instinct.

He must made sure not to make my sister cry, because I promise him that he will not like it if ever I see my sister crying.

Ohh, I really promise you, I am the worst enemy to face because I don't know the limits if already have gone too far with something.

There are guards everywhere and there is this tall lady that Alexander is with, she has beautiful blue eyes.

She wears a mask like us, so I really can't admire the entirety of her beauty.

Will I look the same, if I am working here?

Ha ha, that was so silly asking myself that.

I went to the group and each of them are minding their own business.

"Welcome," she greeted us with pure joy in her voice. "This is the Prism State, home of the unknown and I assume that you are the guests of my little brother right here," she then said.

All of us nodded.

"I assume that all if you already know what will happen next," she then said to us.

Exclude me from that, I do not know why we are here. Geez... Why though in the first place?

Alex just invited me and I quickly accepted his invitation because when he said that if I wanted to come with him, I said yes immediately and I shushed him up and I went home to celebrate.

Now I am starting to regret for not letting him talk that time. 

Maybe I can ask him later.

"Follow us," she said and then she turned her back on us and then she started to walk.

I cannot do anything but to follow her.

"As I said the Prism State is the home of the unknown that’s why all visitors of this country must undergo through a series of security scans and check because this place is also known by the name of Pandora’s Box, and in Greek mythology it is a box that contains curses to humankind,” she explained to us.

Then she pointed something to the guard and she quickly...

“I think you know why this place is called the Pandora’s Box?” she asked and I slightly nodded. “Good, by now we don’t know if this place really contains curse or blessing, if we are isolated like this from the whole world but humans... being them, like me, fearing the unknown,” she added.

I completely agree to her, but this is for the greater good... bad for them if this place really contains something that will benefit the whole world.

And that’s why researchers like us exist, to study and find something that will benefit the whole world.

Also, to explore new knowledge that will be added to the books.

“Now go through your first examination,” she said and then she steps aside and a whole-body scanner... no biggie, we are always going through that in malls.

It is something that scans, the body for metallic figures that we are carrying, to make sure that we don’t carry any harmful weapons.

We formed a line and I’m the second to the last and behind me is Alexander, patiently waiting.

Since he is taller than me, I can tell that he is looking straight at the scanner patiently waiting for his turn. So, to not disturb the peace, except for him... that vlogger who is talking nonstop... just for the sake of it, I remained quiet here in my place.

Finally, it’s my turn and I went through the scanner, it beeped but not the bad kind of beep, and a female guard blocked my way.

Yep, a body check, technology can be faulty sometimes so I raised my hand.

Their system is good here, since there is a female and male guard, for every check based on the gender they take turns, to make the people that are going through here, will really feel comfortable.

She just checked certain parts of my body, where I can possibly hide my weapons, if ever I am carrying one, and since this place has tight security.

This guard did not give me a chance to redeem myself from her, which is understandable since this is for security measures, I went to my sister’s side after it was done, and watched Alexander go through the same process as us.

He is wearing a formal wear, it’s like he is going to a prom party, and his slight brown skin matches the color of his hair which is light brown, not only that, he also has brown eyes.

Which is common for people, but what’s odd, is that life made him to be brown.

It’s just too much coincidence, but that suits him, in fact he looks great, and many girls in our school are heed over heels to him.

He caught me looking at him and then he gave me another beautiful smile. This guy... he is very.

Never mind.

We followed, Dr. Sarah?

Sarah Lim, I assume if she is not married.

Since they are siblings after all.

We went on sterilization process to make sure that we don’t bring any sorts of virus with us.

Now I know, since she explained it to me. The reason is they also don’t know how the foreign bacteria will interact with microscopic creatures.

It has been years.

I think that is slow progress when it comes to knowing this creature.

But I am here to have a tour not to make changes, but once I am part of this society, I promise myself that I myself will brought upon change and I will bring boost up the process.
