Chapter 5

After those security measures, we are in front of this largely reinforced gate, in front of us. It has the height of a mansion which made it intimidating to those who will stand in front of these gates.

This is massive.

Dr. Sarah slowly walked towards a radio attached to it with a green button below it.

She softly pressed the green button and it lit up and she puts her lip closer to the radio and spoke something that we cannot hear.

But as soon she was finished with it, we felt small tremors on the ground, and sound scary enough to make a little child pee on their pants.

We saw the gates slowly moving aside.

Awesome!

“Guys! This is it!” he shouted. “I am the firs z tuber that will enter the famous Prism State,” he said and I agree to him that this place is famous. “What horrors will await us, or something that we don’t really expect,” he said.

“Can you please keep your tone down?” FINALLY! Someone said it because I don’t know if I am able to endure his loudness.

A smirk formed in my lips and I slowly turned around to see his reaction.

He lowered down his camera.

“I am sorry about that,” and he smiled.

Wait what?

He is supposed to be embarrassed by that, ughh you know what? Hands down to vloggers like you, he really has so much confidence within him. I mean good for him but I really envy him for having that kind of confidence.

“Let’s go,” Dr. Sarah said I am wondering why the gates did not completely, open... just enough for us to walk through.

We followed her and a bright light is waiting for us on the other side.

I am so excited right now...

A dream comes true!

As we passe by these thick gates that separates this place from the whole world, I closed my eyes and I slowly opened it.

What I saw did not disappoint me, as I saw so many buildings. No wonder why the barrier is very high that airplane passengers can see it clearly, but there is something that I wonder...

“So... if this place is covered up, how can people breathe? Don’t they suffocate?” I asked the doctor.

 She stopped for a little bit and she started to walk again, immediately.

“Good question,” she said. “This place has plants and trees that produces the oxygen for us and since we cannot risk them being infected by the terra formers,” ohh, so that’s what they call it. Not that exciting to hear but it will do. “We separated them in a special chamber and there are passage that oxygen and carbon dioxide to go through, we provide their essential needs to sustain them for long,” she explained.

That’s why I really can’t see a glimpse of any plant here.

Even the floor is covered in metal.

“I assume based on what I know, that this terra formers, are reacting to any biological, and reconstructing their BIOLOGICAL structures, and also modifying their traits and characteristics, making them a whole new other species,” I told her.

She stopped once again but this time, she turned around and looked at me as if she cannot believe what I have just said.

“Good observation!” she praised me and I felt flattered. “Tell me girl, what field are you specializing in?” she asked me and I can’t help it but to smile when she asked me that.

“The same field as you are,” I told her.

“Oh, you are very welcome to this nation once you finish your studies, you have the brains for this kind of thing,” she said.

“Actually sis, she is the friend that I am telling you about,” she is the friend that I am telling you about,” Alexander said.

You don’t need to say that.

“Oh,” and she acted surprise. “Then I approve of her for you,” she added.

“Excuse me, what do you mean?” I asked her innocently but Alexander quickly came into scene and covered her sister’s mouth. Then he looked at me wearing an awkward smile. “What is she talking about?” I asked him.

“No, no, ignore my sis, she is really like this sometimes,” he said.

Then her sister forced his hands off her.

“I am sorry about that,” she said. “Never mind what I said earlier, it came out of impulse,” she then added. I don’t understand what she is saying but okay.

She started to walk again and those brief admiration is finished.

Soon we reached a facility, everything here is colored in white, and it’s like that I more in a cyberpunk world because the tech here is nothing that I have seen from the outside world.

I can ask it any other time because it still feels awkward between us from what happened earlier. I just can’t totally ignore that thing.

We entered the laboratory and literally, there are so many people wearing white coats here. They are so busy running around.

They didn’t even notice our arrival.

Dr. Sarah stopped and turned around to face us.

“My assistants here will lead you to your new rooms,” she said and just like magic two assistants walk to her side. “I’ll be taking my leave now, since there are more work waiting for me in the lab,” she then said.

“Thank you,” I whispered when she is taking her leave.

“If you may please follow us,” one of the assistants, that is wearing a rounded glass and wearing a white lab coat that they all wear inside the lab.

They started to walk and we silently follow them, leading us to our temporary room, during our tour inside this country. I can’t say that I am not thrilled seeing what the rooms look like inside this country.

I had a glimpse of a terra former here, and oh boy I almost screeched.

But I don’t want another embarrassing moment happening to me again.

So, what I did is kept walking.

“The tour will start tomorrow,” the assistant said, still the one who is wearing a rounded glass.

I'm a bit saddened to hear that, since I still have to wait for a long time before I can see those unique monsters in person.

I guess I still have to wait for a very very long time before I get to see them.

I bumped into my sister who is walking in front of me... I am kinda a bit of spacing out.

"Sorry."

"Here are the keys of the room that you will get, and each one of you have individual rooms," she added and the others cheered that their privacy won't get invaded.

Am actually happy too... Especially my sister.

They distributed the keys, one to each of us. I grabbed mine and I am in room number seventy nine.

My sister is extremely happy that she will get to be alone inside a room right now, which I am not happy to know about it.

“If you may please proceed to your respective rooms, and don’t ever break the rules of this country, and if you do...” she paused and the emotion in her eyes completely changed into something scary. “Or you will suffer the consequences,” she said with a deeper voice than earlier. “Moving on, I hope you will enjoy your stay here,” she said in a joyful manner and she proceed to leave.

All of us there are left baffled by her attitude, but it did not last long inside our mind.

So, each of us looked at the doors to find the right number that matches this key.

Room Thirty-nine, not my room so I moved on and proceeds to find my own room.

There are so many rooms here.

I looked at the number of each door since they are shuffled and not ordered in a formal manner, I don’t know who designed this hallway and shuffled the numbers. They really like to torment the people who lives inside this vicinity.

It took me a whopping twenty minutes to find my room.

This will almost beat a hotel.

But what matters now is I found my room.

I inserted the key inside the key hole and it is a perfect fit, just like what is to be expected in this key. I turned it and the door clicked and I turned the door knob and went inside the room. There are no people inside the room.

I am such a i***t for thinking that there will be someone inside the room.

It’s dark since the lights are turned off, so I navigated my hands on the wall, hoping that the switch is just beside the door frame since in most of the cases it is designed this way.

But I failed, what am I thinking? I am in another country. Maybe there are some kinds of norm here about the placement of the switches inside the house.

So, I pulled out my phone and I unlocked it. I pressed the button that will open flashlight, and as soon the light opened, the light spreads on the floor, forming a bright circle.

I take a deep breath and I stepped inside the room, since I am semi afraid of the dark. But I don’t have any phobia...

I panned my phone to have a view inside the room.

There is so many furniture inside here, and they look very expensive for a room that is supposed for guests.

I guess this country is really rich.

Where is the light switch, and out of impulse, I looked back at the door frame and there I saw it.

I let out a sigh because how come I did not find that.

It’s literally besides the door frame.

It could have move by some means of dark magic like the baba yaga, since this is technically part of Russia.

Oh geez.

I walked back and softly pressed on the light switch.

The light immediately spreads in the whole room.

The room is literally covered and decorated in white, even the furnitures are in white. There is no window here to see the outside which is kind of a bummer. I wonder if the others has some kind of view inside their room.

If they have, I will gladly switch rooms with them.

My sister... I opened my phone and I quickly texted her number and I waited for a while to receive replies from her, which didn’t happen.

Alexander?

Meh, he gets to stay with his sister.

Ohh TV, then I will watch some documentaries to pass some time. Before that, I checked the fridge which is surprisingly filled with so much food.

Since it is here, I assume that it is okay if I will take some snacks in here.
