Chapter 9

We heard the door creaked as it opened.

It really feels like that we are about to enter a completely new dimension, there is a breeze coming from inside which gave me chills. It is very called.

“May I present to you the second burrower, that will blow your minds,” she said and her tone she sounds too excited, and I meant that sarcastically. “TF – 1203 aka The Carver,” she said that again.

But now I am so curious what does that carver looks like, and obviously, what happened earlier made me assume that this creature knows how to carve things.

But I am curious what kind of animal it was from, it originated from or it mutated from, what is the proper term for that.

But I am excited to know what lies beyond these doors that we just pass through earlier.

I keep hearing a clicking sound which really piques my curiosity now.

I know animals that uses clicking sound and the others rely on echo location, it would be cool if this carver is also relying on echo location when it is hunting.

Then we saw a glass enclosure in the middle and sand, but there is nothing... I wondered where it is, and there are no ornaments in this enclosure which made me assume that it is supposed to be easier to spot, but then I remembered that we are in burrower class.

That’s on me.

But we are mesmerized when we saw the patterns on the sand.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” she asked me.

“I can’t agree more,” my sister responded. It’s like some sort of ancient flower.

“TF – 1203, originated from antlions,” she said. I see, and I think we all know what ant lions are ”But for the sake of formality, ant lions are tiny insects that are natural burrowers in the nature, and their method of hunting their prey is they did a pitfall on the dunes, and wait there, lying motionless, until an ant or any insect fall for their death traps,” she explained.

Well I know it all.

“They were named the carvers as you can see here that they are able to mesmerize our eyes with different patterns that they are able to make,” she said. “And it was to lure humans to their trap and eat us,” It’s gross.

Those animals eating us? No way.

“There are three of them in captivity, and to make them form new patterns in hopes to find something useful about their origins, so far, they were drawing something that even baffled the greatest artists that lives up until to this day.

We looked on each enclosure and I am amazed buy what I saw.

“Feeding time,” the doctor said.

I am so glad to hear that from her because it is really exciting to see them eat for the first time. I want to see them out of their graves.

Then I saw a large chunk of meat

inside one of the enclosures and honestly dude, I really can't take my eyes on

them.

Just like what I expected, I saw

an ant lion that is almost bigger than me. It's just they have gigantic

mandibles which is very scary.

It was really, cool to see.

I can see their insectoid eyes and bizarre moth which obviously contains the sharp teeth that they use to shred the meat out of their poor victims which is worry some.

Then the doctor started to walk again, that is 2 out of 5 for this class and it does not yet disappoint us, but if it had, then we won’t notice it. Considering how sick this is.

We started to walk through the hallway and we really are hearing many sounds around us, probably from the terra formers that they have captured.

Now I am curious what other terra formers are yet to come to us.

But a hiss caught my attention, and it is louder and it seems coming from the room that we are about to enter now and I saw the label on the door and it reads. TF – 6502.

The door opened and the doctor is saying nothing, and she just kept walking. All of us does not have any other choice but to follow her inside.

What’s unique in this room, is that it has neon lights instead of the dim ones, which made it harder for me to see because it’s dark and the neon lights are not enough to light this dark room.

I opened my phone and I attempted to op-

“Don’t open any light source,” she said to us. You should have said to us earlier before we entered this chamber. “This is TF – 6502, or also known as the light chasers,” she said.

Light chasers?

No wonder why the doctor forbids us from opening flash lights because it might do something to trigger their aggression.

“They are originally fireflies, but now they are a swarm and goes by the name light chasers, ironic, isn’t it? They once produced lights but after the terra formers have done some modifications in their bodies, the chemical that was produced inside their bodies, that is used to illuminate the darkness was removed and for some reason, they are carnivorous unlike from their original hosts characteristics, hence they are color coded orange, and they won’t stop at nothing once they have killed their prey,” she explained to us.

So why hissing?

“How do they create those hissing sounds?” I asked doctor Sarah.

“Because of their wings,” she said. “I can’t explain it in detail but there is something that they do, they rub their wings on their hard exo skeleton which causes that sound,” she answered my question. “I said that their light was removed right?” she asked us.

“Yes,” we said in unison.

“I meant that, from the butt where it is originally placed,” she said and then we continue to move forward and then we saw their enclosure. I was amazed.
