Chapter 10

Is it right, if I consider that the space outside our planet is still part of our mother nature? I mean nature is the environment, right?

And in my perspective, the term mother earth, and mother nature are two complete separate categories. Because on what I am seeing right now, is truly the work of nature and I am amazed just by seeing that. It’s too beautiful as I see the swarm of light chaser’s glowing body. Since the neon lights are blue.

They are glowing violet.

They turned from a lighting insect to a glow in the dark one, and I am amazed and baffled by what I am just witnessing right now?

“So how are they classified as burrowers?” I asked Dr. Sarah.

“They live underground,” she said. Ugh, the coldness, at least show some enthusiasm to us. It seems like that she is so tired working in this place because I will be happy to take her place.

“I mean they are here on the other side of the glass, resting,” I stated the obvious from what we are seeing.

“You will know, in the pamphlets,” she coldly said. I guess, the conversation the other day was the last time, and the first time I will hear enthusiasm in her voice. She is hopeless when it comes to that word.

I mean can you believe this? I thought the terra formers, mutate their hosts different to each other even it belongs to the same species.

But I guess I was wrong, as I saw the swarm of them.

“From the speculations of our researcher’s the requirements for the mutation of the hosts, are the environment that they thrive in for the moment. As you can see there is a swarm of light chasers, but don’t be fooled by their beauty as they are a ravage eater as these fellas are color coded as orange,” she told us.

Woah, orange as I remembered from her, they are aggressive naturally, or a carnivore, but I hope that they are on the aggressive type because it is terrifying to be eaten by a swarm of those.

Just imagine the pain of getting bitten by one of that.

“And they are carnivores,” she said. I guess I don’t mind what I just said by now. “Take as much time as you want before we head to the next one,” she said.

As just as she said, we took our time to observe this one. But after a couple of minutes, we moved on. “The next one TF – 77 also known as the Rat,” did I hear that right? I never imagined that their naming could be much simpler than the carver or the mole fish...

“The rat?” Jose asked in disbelief.

“Yes, it is named as the rat,” she said and she just simply looks at us.

I don’t know if this person feels awkward in her life. I mean just looking by her eyes right now, it’s so lifeless. She is too unpredictable I mean.

“Then what does it do?” I asked.

“Just go see for yourself,” she said as the door behind her opens. We entered the cold room.

Then we heard an eerie growl, it’s creepy. But unlike the other two from earlier, we saw a mound, I suppose that where is this supposedly creature named rat be.

“How do we see it?” I asked.

Then I immediately noticed that there is a small table beside the Dr. Sarah. A flute?

She grabbed it and played an unfamiliar tune.

But as soon as she finished playing the tune of the flute, we heard a loud growl from the creature and we saw it stick out from one of its feet.

I am so excited to see what TF – 77 looks like. I mean it’s strange just to call it simply a ra- my hopes quickly sky rocketed down, as I saw a rat, comes out, not just a rat but a gigantic rat with sharp claws and teeth.

“That’s it?” I heard Alexander said. I thought he knew about the creatures of this place, but I guess there are still things that he does not know even his sister is one of the VIPs in this place.

“Yes, terra formers do not just change a creature’s anatomical structure, in such complicated ways as you just saw from the earlier specimens that we saw,” she said. “Some are just simply...” she looks at the rat behind her that cluelessly sniffing around. “Growing, and have sharp teeth,” she added awkwardly, I find it a little funny. “This is a color-coded orange, as by capturing this one we have sacrificed a platoon of soldiers,” she said.

Then it is NOT JUST a rat, but a monster rat.

“That’s why Prism State exists and still enclosed separated from the rest of the world, it is because that there are so many mysteries how terra formers exist,” I am starting to see a pattern here. “The borders of this place is the last recorded site where people from the outside saw a specimen affected by the foreign substance,” she added.

I see...

“Let’s move on,” she said. One more in this class, I guess. “There are more specimens to see,” she added as we exited the room.

Then just a room besides it we stopped and a room named TF – 02 is written. The mole fish was coded as TF – 01, and mentioned as the first one to be captured by them. So, I assume that this one is the second one.

I guess there is something significant why she has chosen, to show the specimen to us.

“TF – 02 also known as Rattler,” she said. Rattler, ah I should stop expecting for the specimens to have a much cooler name. I don’t know why I am expecting it to be like that.

The door opened and waiting for what is this room left to offer. We entered the room, and yes as the name suggests we heard rattling the same as the rattle snake. Oh, I know what this creature have originated from.

“Came from a rattle snake and also coded as orange, and this is the first time we realized how much of a danger that this country is handling from the start,” she said, and as soon as we entered the room, we saw the rattler slither out from its burrow- oh slither is not the right term for this one. As I saw that it grew four legs. I mean it’s cute, and I am so into it, if it is not coded orange.

I observed it’s appearance, it has a great resemblance to a snake because of its elongated body, but what’s fascinating is the rocks, as its scale so I can imagine how hard this one can be, and when it rattled its tail, I saw that it has hard rock boulders for its rattle.

Elementals?

Well, I have seen such in natures, for example turtles, and animals that use chemicals that serves as its defense mechanism.

“It has rocks, as you can see,” she said and yes, we have noticed it because it is as clear as day. All of the specimens that have been shown to us, left us all astonished. Except for the naming of the creatures. They are too cool.

I mean, I can name this one as rock scale, that’s much better than the rattle.

“Those are legitimate stones, and this one despite one of the pioneers of this country is still shrouded with mystery,” she explained to us. Then after that she remained quiet, and let us to observe the creature until it returned back to its burrow. “Remember that I mentioned that I will show you a bonus one,” she said.

We nodded at her.

“Your question will be answered after you saw this one,” she said to Jose and he seems confused what is the researcher is talking about, and I continue to wonder.

We exited the room and we walked for a while until we reached a door separated from the rest.

“Prepare yourself and don’t wet your pants, when you see this one,” she said.

If she says so, then I will prepare myself, because by what she has just said and even it is a figure of speech, I know that this one will be too terrifying.

Preparing myself for the worst, I guess.

She opened the door, and I noticed what is the label on the door of this room.

‘DO NOT ENTER: AUTHORIZED PERSONELL ONLY’

That’s what the label says, and it seems like that she is one of the authorized personel of this place to enter this room, and we are one of the lucky ones to be her guest. So, as we enter this space, we don’t have any idea on what’s inside this room.

“What do you mean by my question answered?” Jose asked the researcher.

“You will know later,” she said.

“I don’t get what you mean but okay,” he said and we just kept following her. Like on the outside the lights here are dim, along the hallway but what made it scarier is the other lights are flicking.

It’s like we are in a horror movie right now and we are about to meet the horror antagonist.

“In every class, we have managed to capture every one of these,” she said, and she is not that specific when telling us what is this. I don’t know what she is talking about. “A code where it can spell the end of the world scenario,” she said.

A code red?

“A crimson color code,” she said. Agh... every time but what!?

“A crimson code?” I asked she did not said something about crimson codes.

“Hey, stop the camera and any information leaked from here, will destroy your own life,” I know that she is talking to Jose since he is the only one here holding a camera.

I looked slowly at Jose and I noticed that he is slowly putting down his camera, a clear sign that he is scared. She is not joking because the whole world will come after him.

“Why show us if it’s something that will destroy our lives?” he said.

“It’s because I liked this girl with glasses,” she said and I felt flattered. “And you should be thankful because you will know a high valuable piece of information, that only a few knows,” she said.
