Someone was having a party, as I relaxed back on my deck I could hear the low rumble of loud music and excited voices across the water. Someone hiring one of the lake side houses wasn’t a surprise. But today? Today I wanted peace and quiet. Needed it after the non stop training , of being pulled in a thousand different directions when all I wanted to do was retreat into my own head and spend some time in silence.
There was more to training than swimming , and running and weights. It was mental preparation as well and for that I needed peace. I needed to empty my mind of everything but what I needed to do.
