Elliot We hit the water at what seemed to be a hundred miles an hour. I wish I could have told her to brace herself but their was no time, all I could do was wrap my body around hers, so I took most the impact . Pain rocketed up my legs as the cold water swallowed us but I knew nothing was broken because I kicked my way to the surface. We had been lucky, very very lucky that the fall and subsequent impact with the water hadn’t broken bones in the very least. In honestly it could have killed us. “Are you ok?” Loosening my grip on Riley’s waist the tiniest amount I searched her face. She was spluttering , panic written all over her face and my arms went back around her.
