Two Mates Four S Ranks

After breakfast, he took her shopping for more shoes, as having three pairs of shoes from a previous shopping spree did not sit well with him. Later today he would take her to meet the team. Everything they bought was portaled home by Nerion and placed by her door. As they finished, his beast wire buzzed. It was time for them to go. Finished with placing all of the bags from Ella’s spree at home, they portaled into the middle of the capital’s meeting room. Only S ranks had the ability to create a portal, let alone enter this room, as it was designed specifically for S ranks only. Silas, Lucian, and Blaze were already seated. All three S ranks were surprised to see Ella. “She is already up to date on the project's history,” Nerion said briefly. Ella sat down between him and Silas. “Silas, nice to see you again”, Ella said happily. She genuinely was happy. He saved her life, after all. “Always a pleasure to see your beautiful face, Ella”, Silas said, taking her hand and placing a kiss on it. Always the gentleman. The other three S ranks in the room scoffed. “Ella, you let a man that's not one of your mates kiss your hand. How bold," Lucian said playfully, although Ella could read him like a book. She felt a wave of irritation. “As far as I’m concerned, Consul, I have only one mate in this room, and Silas is just being polite, unless some beast skin, who lets females touch all over his body that's not his own female.” Ella shot back at him. Lucian raised an eyebrow. He hadn’t expected this female to have a little fire in her. He smiled and his hazel eyes mocked her. So she was jealous. Good. “Now that’s not fair. You're my female just as much as Nerians," Lucian said, pretending to be hurt. Deep down, a small part of him was. “We will see," Ella said. Blaze and Silas watched in amusement. Not many people challenge Lucian and watching get uncomfortable in front of his female was entertaining. “Were here for the infinity project, yes?’Ella asked, turning her attention to Blaze. “ I have some questions for you, commander”,’Ella said, her brown eyes narrowed. She was in full meeting mode, harnessing her past life’s personality. She knew she could be intimidating when she wanted to be. Blaze leaned back in his chair, arms folded, the picture of a man who had already decided this meeting was a formality. "Have you weighed the costs to beast skin lives if you restart this project versus its benefits?" Ella asked. He looked at her the way someone looks at a child who has wandered into the wrong room. "With respect .... Ella" he began, and the pause before her name told her he was deliberately messing with her, "—this is a classified military matter. This meeting is specially for the creation of the pill, not a welfare discussion." Beside her, she felt Nerion go still. Ella didn't blink. “In that case, your role as commander is meaningless. Who are you fighting for exactly, if the lives of your own beast skin citizens mean so little to you?" Ella retorted back. Silas smirked. She was absolutely right. Even he was against the recreation of this formula given the previous results. Blaze said nothing to that. Only looked at her in slight annoyance, yet there was a certain way the fire in her words hit him to his core, though he wouldn’t admit it. She grabbed the paperwork Silas had passed out when she entered with Nerion. It was the same records Nerian had in his office. “You’re not even a scientist. What would you know?" Blaze suddenly said. He turned to Nerian. “I’ve held up my end of the bargain and blocked your female from the beast network, so that no one other than a S rank male can access her photo and file. Now it’s time to do your part," Blaze said, looking at Nerion. Nerion started to speak but Ella waved a hand at him. This wasn’t her meeting, and yet she had taken the initiative to take full control of it, given the new information she now had.
