                                                                 Gabriella POV: It was a hot day in California and I had to get ready for school. I heard my iPhone ping. Giggling I knew that it was my best friend Jacob reminding me to get up for school. Glancing at my phone I read the message, I laughed and sent a quick reply. Grabbing my keys from the nightstand I threw on my book bag and proceed out the door. I was locking my door just in time to see my best friend Jacob pulling into my drive way, driving his Toyota Camry. Blasting some moronic song that I knew nothing about. Hey Jacob did you do Ms Killer algebra home work. He looked at me and laughed umm nope I forgot I was busy with Cody last night. If you know what I mean.  Ouch I thought I hate hearing about him. Yeah I let out as I tried to hide the pain. i felt my self subconsciously turning my sun ring Its a ring amulet that allows vampires to walk in the sun. I really didn’t like Cody, it wasn’t just the fact that he was f*****g my mate, it was also because Cody jut wasn’t a nice person. He was a man w***e and cheated on Jacob a lot. But for what ever reason Jacob kept forgiving Cody and taking him back. Hey are you alright Gabriel ? You're real quiet over there. I looked at him and smirked yeah i'm okay its just that time of the month I stuck my tongue out at him. Gross he said tmi. I chuckled before looking away.  I don't understand how he is my fated. Most vampires do not even meet their mate for a few hundred years. Yet here mine was. Human, un aware and totally not into girls. How was this gonna work? How was I gonna tell him? Maybe after high school I can move away and go off into the world. Maybe I can wait a few Hundred Years until his soul is reborn. I rubbed my left shoulder rolling it to get my muscles to relax.  Hey is your shoulder alright? Asked Jacob I turned to look at him. Yeah I don’t know it feels stiff. Mmm he said while pulling into the school parking lot. Let me see he said while turning the car off, he shuffled in his seat until he was facing me. He motioned with his hand for me to turn around and I was reluctant. The sparks were intense and all consuming. Did he even feel them ? There hasn’t been a human, vampire mating in centuries because humans don't feel the mating bond as strongly as a vampire. To them it probably feels like Love ? Unless the human soul was in fact the vampire true soulmate, only then can the pair really be together for eternity.  Humans fell in and out of love so easily. Cheating abusing and just using each other. It was so easy for humans to fall in love with multiple people. But to us creatures of the night it was forever.... eternal.  I held my breath as his hands came in contact with my shoulder. Our skins touching the warmth from his palm on to my skin was unforgiving. The sparks went all threw my body, and i couldve sworn i felt my dead heart beating. My eyes shut on its on accord, I couldn’t take it this exchange was to much and yet still never enough. There he said as he finished messaging my shoulder, how does hat feel ? I smiled but didn’t turn around to see him, much better I tried saying.  My voice cracked a little but I opened the car door and stepped out. Wait Gabriela. I stopped as he called my name and when I turned around he was looking at me with an unreadable expression. Hew went to say something until Cody came from behind him and covered his eyes. I watched them internally hating myself. Who is that ? Came Jacob reply, Guess who said Cody. Jacob smiled and i watched as Cody arms fell from his face and they kissed.  I closed my eyes and turned around wishing for something that i knew i would never have. I wish I never turned 18 because everything changed on my 18th Birthday.  Flashback I was laughing as my father began feverishly tickling me.I hated being tickled, I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t control my limbs whenever I was tickled. Happy 18th birthday sweetie your all grown up now he said in his mock sad voice. I rolled my eyes, yes father I am grown now and i think my curfew should be extended to 12am.  My damn looked at me and smirked 11 o’clock, Deal I shreaked !! I started dancing in circles until I smelled my mom coming from the stream. We were currently hunting in Colorado, way up in the mountains. My favorite thing to hunt were mountain lions, they tasted so fresh and untainted by human hands.  My mom was coming from bathing in the stream, are you having fun Gabriela I smiled and vigorously nodded my head. My mom picked up her cell phone from our pile of cloths laying under the tree. Mmmm we better start heading back soon. Its already 5:30 and I know you wanna see your little human. I smiled mooooommmm his name is Jacob you know, and he is my best friend i whined.  You know Gabriela if I didn’t know any better I would swear you guys were mated. You guys have been glued to the hip ever since we came to this human world. I watched as she stretched out, my mom was very beautiful she had long jet black hair, rosey cheeks and sparkling green eyes.  My mom was on the tall side standing at 5’11 but she was curvy and vivacious. My dad wasn’t so bad looking either, you would think he was a GQ model. He had broad shoulders strawberry blond hair well defined abs and stood 6”2 his eyes were glossy sea blues. I get my hair and eyes from dad, he also gifted me his eyes except I had specks of green like the color of my moms eyes.  My mom laughing cleared my head from my musing. Well you don't have to worry about that for some centuries. I smiled and shrugged I didn’t really care about mates or anything like that, for what ever reason I wasn’t into dating anyone. I shrugged my shoulders and we began getting dressed. I checked my phone and sure enough Jacob had been blowing up my phone all day. I smiled as I read his first message. “Where R U b***h !!!” “ HAPPY f*****g BIRTHDAY BESTFRIEND !!! WISHING YOU WERE HERE SO I CAN TELLL YOU IN PERSON!!” I locked my phone and was ready to run back to California. This shouldn’t take us that long if we stuck to the trees and water. I looked at my mom dad, are you guys ready ? I watched them as they kissed and nodded.  Soon enough we were flashing through the trees running at top speed. I couldn’t stoop smiling and laughing, I just loved the feel of running. It felt so freeing.  7 hours later we stopped right outside off the city lines and found our car where we parked it. We didn’t want to just appear home out of no where. We had no idea who was watching us or if the elders were checking in.  I smiled as I got into the back seat and took out my phone.  “Hey Jacob thank you. Best friennnnd, Sorry my mom and dad surprised me for my birthday and took me out. But im back now and heading to you now. “ I pressed send. Looking up from my phone I bit my bottom lip before asking, hey dad ? Yes sweetie. Can you drop me by Jacob house please? I haven’t seen him all day.  I finished by folding my hands in front of me and giving him my puppies eyes.  I seen him glance at my mom and she smiled before he said fine, only because it is your birthday and for what ever reason this human means sooo much to you.  Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! I said while trying my best to hug him around his chair.  15 minutes later we drove up to Jacob house. I was waving good bye to my parents when I heard Jacob opening up his front door. I turned around and was about to run towards him but stopped in my tracks. Something was different about him, He smelled … different. It looked as if he was jogging in slow motion towards me.  Damn did he always look this good ? Now wonder the girls and guys in our school would stare at him. It was like I was seeing him for the first time or something and I mean really seeing him. I watched as his shoulder length hair swished in the wind, his chocolate hazeled eyes looked lighter when he smiled. Odd that I just realized this, he was wearing basketball shorts like he normally wore around bed time.  But this time it was hanging dangerously low, his v cut was so defined. I felt my breathing get choppy, I licked my now dried lip and felt my throat getting dry. He wore a tank top which hugged his biceps well, damn, god shore did take his time making him I thought but none of that mattered; because soon  his arms were wrapped around me and I inhaled his scent. I felt my eyes roll to the back of my head as his scent swirled around me and the sparks. My god these damn sparks were every where our bodies touched. I felt my self grab onto him, holding him to me as if any minute he would float away or perhaps I would. I laid my head on his shoulders where my nose touched his neck and I felt my fangs drop, oh s**t I thought. What is happening to me, it wasn’t long until he sat me back on the ground and he let me go. The pain from losing contact with him, had me doubling over in pain. My stomach felt weird and swirling. I bent over with my hand resting on my knees, I tried to quickly get my barings. I acted like I was out of breath, to try to hide my fangs.  Come on Jacob you can’t be doing that I just ate, I faked whined. I heard him laugh beside me. I closed my eyes and began counting to 10, I felt my fangs retract and I looked up at him.  When our eyes connected we both froze, I felt the mating threads wrap around us and intwine my soul to his. My mind was racing what is happening? He can’t be my mate. I watched him as he stepped closer to me, he looked to be in a trance and I knew that was the pull of the mating threads.  I watched as his hand reached out to cup my face, and god I couldn’t help but turn into his hand. I felt the sparks an as I glanced up into his eyes I felt the first drop of rain. It started to pour and his hair started sticking to his forehead, I brung my hand up to remove that annoying strand covering his eye and just like that the trance was over for him.  He smiled and stepped away from me. Jacob ! Gabriella ! What the hell are yall doing in the damn rain ! Screamed Cody voice from Jacob house. Come on Gabriella lets go in the house, I bought your favorite cake.  I smiled and watched as his back turned and he began running towards the house. He jogged up to Cody and kissed him before grabbing his hand and pulling him back into the house. s**t !!!! Jacobs my mate?!?!?!?! End Of Flashback
