I opened my eyes to darkness.
Complete darkness.
For several seconds, I couldn't remember where I was.
Then I remembered.

I immediately sat up.
“Damon?”
My voice echoed into the darkness.
No answer.
I pushed myself to my feet.
“Damon!”
Nothing.
Panic tightened around my chest.
He was holding onto me at the exact moment the gate swung open.
Then the light had swallowed us.
But now…
He was gone.
I looked around.
The place didn't look like the forest anymore.
There were no trees.
No road.
No wolves.
The ground was covered in huge black stones, and they were all marked with weird silver symbols.
The moon was huge, hanging right above me.
I took a step forward.
“Where am I?”
