Episode 01: The Disappearance
Scene one: The Family Gathering and Discovery
The Walton mansion stood tall, it's stone façade gleaming in the light of the day. The family had gathered for the annual summer ball, a tradition that dated back generations. Henry Walton, the family's only heir stood by the grand staircase, surveying the scene before him.
Henry, you need to smile, his mother, Charlotte, whispered as she adjusted his tie. This is a celebration after all.
Walks away with Olive(the mother's secretary) to welcome her sister-in-law Catherine Morgan(an artist) and Mirabel(Catherine assistant).
Henry forced a smile, his eye scanning the room. His father, Nathaniel Walton, who was with Harrison Morgan, and some of his trusted business partners, as Nathaniel held the court near the bar, charming the guest with booming laughter and charismatic charm. Whereas, Henry's sister, Anastasia on the other hand was seen at a corner all attention on the book she was reading, a while after her friend(Mackenzie) arrived at the mansion brimming with joy as it has been a while since they last saw each other with Ana's niece, Ava joining them, they were busy gisting, cracking jokes, each of them talking about how life treats them, with which their laughters fills the atmosphere, with Emily paying attention to what the girls were discussing.
As the night wore on, Henry found himself growing increasingly restless. He excused himself, citing a need for fresh air, and stepped out onto the balcony. The cool night air enveloped him, and he took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calmness wash over him.
That's when he noticed the door to the study room was ajar. Curious, Henry pushed the door open and stepped inside. The room was dimly lit, the only sound was the ticking sound of the grandfather's clock in the corner. Henry's eye scanned the room, and his heart sank as he realized the glass case holding the family's most treasured heirloom, the Starlight Necklace, was empty.
Panic set in as Henry searched the room, his mind racing with possibilities. Where could it be? He checked the drawers, the shelves, every possible hiding spot, but the necklace was nowhere to be found.
Henry rushed out of the study, determined to find answers, still looking confused.
Shock still written all over his face, as he informed Nathaniel his father.
The grand estate of the Walton family loomed before them, its stone façade gleaming in the fading light of the night. Nathaniel Walton stood in the study room, his eyes fixed on the empty display case where the family's most treasured heirloom, the priceless Starlight Necklace once rested.
"Where could it be?" He muttered to himself his voice laced with worried. Gather the others Henry order made by Nathaniel!
The door creaked open, and his wife, Charlotte, entered. "Nathaniel, what's wrong?"
The Starlight Necklace is gone, "he replied, his face etched with concern.
Charlotte's expression turned grave. "We need to find it. The family's reputation depends on it."
Nathaniel face turned stern as the family gathered in the study room. As he spoke
"The reason why you're all assemble here is because, The Starlight Necklace is gone, and I want it found. I need each of you to tell me where you were between 10 pm and 11 pm tonight."
Anastasia explain what she was doing at that time to her dad, so has to every single person in the room.
Charlotte added, I'll review the guest list and security footage. Maybe someone noticed something.
Scene two: Meet Ethan Blackwood
The next morning, Henry sat in his office, going through a list of detectives he found online. In which one of them caught his eyes: Ethan Blackwood. Henry dialed the number, and a smooth voice answered on the first ring.
Black Investigations. How can I help you?, came Ethan's voice
Mr Blackwood, my name is Henry Walton. I need your expertise in a delicate matter. A family heirloom has gone missing, and I require discretion.
Ethan voice remained calm and professional. I'd be happy to help, Mr Walton. Can we schedule a meeting to discuss the details?
Henry agreed, and they set a time for the appointment later that day, with the house address to Ethan. Henry still feeling unease, when home.
A while after Henry's return, the door bell rang, and the butler rose to answer, announced, that the detective Ethan Blackwood, has arrived with that Henry came down the stairs. A tall, dark-haired man with piercing blue eyes stood on the porch, his expression serious.
"Mr Blackwood," Henry said, extending his hand.
Ethan shook it firmly. "Mr Walton. Let's discuss the details of your case."
As they sat down in the study, Ethan listened intently as Henry explained the situation. Henry watched as Ethan's eyes narrowed, his mind already working overtime to piece together the clues.
"I'll need to question the family and staff," Ethan said, his voice calm and assuring. Can you arrange that?
Henry nodded, feeling a sense of hope for the first time since discovering the necklace was missing. Maybe Ethan Blackwood could help him uncover the truth and recover the Starlight Necklace.
With Ethan on the case, Henry felt a sense of determination wash over him. He would find out who had taken the necklace, no matter what secrets they were hiding.
Ethan Blackwood's eyes scanned the room, taking in the subtle details that often went unnoticed. He had a keen mind observation, honed from years of experience as a detective. As he questioned the family and staff, he paid close attention to their reactions, body language, and tone.
The Walton's family gathered in the study room, their faces a mix of concern and curiosity. Ethan began with the parents, Nathaniel said he was at the bar chilling with his friends when Henry suddenly called for him. While Charlotte, seemed genuinely concerned. Said, "I was hosting guests, Ethan. I didn't notice anything unusual." After Ethan asked both Nathaniel and Charlotte questions, they seemed cooperative, but Ethan detected a hint of tension beneath their polished facade.
Next, he spoke with Anastasia, Henry's younger sister, who remained reserved. "I was reading in the corner alone, then came my friend and cousin whom we chatted together, Mr. Blackwood. I didn't see anything."
Ethan's eyes locked onto hers, searching for any hint of deception. "Did you notice anyone suspicious?"
Anastasia hesitated before responding, "No, nothing out of the ordinary."
Ethan made a mental note of her hesitation.
Ethan next meeting was with Henry, who seemed nervous. "So, Mr. Walton, can you tell me where you were between 10 pm and 11 pm last night?"
Henry hesitated, "I...I was on the balcony, getting some fresh air."
Ethan's eyes narrowed slightly. "And did you notice anything unusual?"
Henry's eyes darted around the room before settling on Ethan. "No , nothing. Just the usual party noise."
"While I was at the balcony, that was when I noticed the study room door was slightly open, and I found the empty case."
Ethan's eyes narrowed. "You didn't mention that earlier. Why,?"
Henry eyes darted around the room. "I didn't want to cause panic."
Ethan sensed Henry might be hiding something. "I see. Well, let's discuss the necklace's significance. Can you tell me more about it?"
Henry's expression turned guarded. "It's just an ancestral family heirloom. Very valuable, I suppose."
Ethan instincts told him Henry knew more than he was letting on.
Scene three: The Investigation Begins
Charlotte seemed genuinely concerned, while Anastasia's hesitation raised suspicions.
As Ethan continued his investigation, he decided to interview the staff members who were working at the party. He spoke with the butler, Sebastian, who seemed composed but slightly nervous.
"Can you tell me about your whereabouts between 10 pm and 11 pm last night?" Ethan asked.
James hesitated before responding, "I was attending to the guests, making sure everything was in order. I didn't notice anything unusual."
