Why did she look away when she saw me looking at her? She is so angry at me and I can't stand it. she doesn't even want to look at me. It's break time and I can't find her. Perhaps she has gone into hiding. Why wouldn't she? After all the gossips going on about her, how can she possibly be outside? I was there when the class was teasing her but I couldn't say a word. She might still be in class. As I entered the class, I saw her sitting alone at her desk reading a book. She looked so sad and it wounded my heart. "I want to talk to her but would she let me?" After standing at the door for a few minutes, I gathered up courage and decided to speak with her. I walked straight to her desk and said hi. she pretended not to have heard. "Can we talk?", I say. "Please leave", she says without looking at my face. "please" I say and she puts the book down looked me straight in the eye and said, "Max Williams, we have nothing to talk about. we are just classmates and not friends so please if you don't mind, I would like to get back to what I was doing before you interrupted". After she said this, I couldn't even bring myself to speak a word. I just went numb. I saw the pain in her eyes when she said that. Her eyes were teary. She must have gathered enough self control not to have let even a tiny drop fall on her cheeks. She was so hurt and I could feel it. What can I do to rectify this massive mistake of mine? How can I get back the friendship we shared not long ago?
