Chapter 03 | New Beginning

14 days later The dark room was filled with rows of monitor screens and one large monitor that displayed many separate pieces of information at once, the ambience amplified through small conversations and ringing telephones. "The spike in activity from the Abyss is approaching orange levels, especially in the southern hemisphere, without the large Awakened guild being there we could lose parts of the south. Other than that—," the explanation from the person standing holding a tablet was abruptly interrupted. "How's the Roaming Star doing? They often take assignments away from their jurisdiction," said a man whose form was partially obscured, revealing only his dark blue robes and the embers of the cigar he was holding. The man standing next to him handed him a tablet that displayed information regarding guilds capable of taking on the task. He muttered, "Sentinels, Blazing Spirit, Hunter Troupe, they're all powerful guilds but only up to the country level. But, this one. Forsaken, one of the strongest guilds on the surface of the earth." He swiped the screen of his tablet which displayed the profile of each willing guild. "Hmm. How's he doing? He hasn't woken up in a while," she said. "His vitals are still the same and he's already showing signs of movement in his muscles," replied the man next to him. ... Beep. Beep. Beep. The sound of the electrocardiograph screeching in the quiet room, the regular breathing of the sleeping figure. A small movement of a hand as if something in a dream was happening, became more and more obvious until the hand reached for the oxygen mask covering her breathing area. After the slow movement, his eyes also opened slowly as if struggling to accept the light entering his eyes. "Where is this?" he asked half-consciously. It was clear that the sleeping figure was Jyu. A body that was quite chiselled by his long training with his grandfather, quite handsome for someone who had not yet reached the prime of life, with some facial features that made him even more striking such as his golden pupils and the shape of his eyes that were quite sad. A soft voice was heard replying to his question, "Right now, you are in the main building of the Awakened Grand Federation, Jyu." "Huh?" replied Jyu, looking to his side. "She looks my age, but she's wearing a military uniform, or does she just look young?" thought Jyu. Sitting on a small bench, holding a mobile phone, silver hair flowing down to her shoulders, the silhouette of sharp eyes along with ruby red pupils, slender posture paired with a dark blue and black military uniform covering her entire figure. Just from the side, one could already see the charm she possessed. "Who are you?" he asks in confusion. She replied, "Hmm. Me? My name is Yuna, from AGF's first management division, how are you doing?" "Uhmm. Not bad at all, I can move," said Jyu as he stretched his body. "Alright, then, come with me," she replied as she walked out of the room. "Quite cold," Jyu complained in his mind. Just as he was about to follow her, he realised his condition and shouted, "W-WAIT! WHERE'S MY SHIRT!" "Oh yeah, put on the clothes on the table over there, I'll wait outside," Yuna replied as she closed the door. "Hmmm. Let's see the clothes," Jyu thought as she checked the clothes that had been prepared for her, a long-sleeved shirt and grey trousers. After putting them on she immediately rushed out of her room, where she was awaited by Yuna. "Oh, are you done? Here," Yuna greeted. They walked in the long bright hallway, it was quite crowded with people passing by, going in and out of the room holding various objects that looked important, there were also those who were talking to each other. Jyu asked, "Yuna, is it usually this busy every day?" "Yes, it's usually like this, but this is also because there is something," said Yuna. ... After walking down a long and branching hallway, they finally reached their destination. Right in front of them, a fairly large door that had a sign 'Command Centre'. Opening the door, they were greeted with the bustle of people at work, as well as a large monitor screen displaying a world map coupled with red dots located in some locations. "Ah, you're up already? How's it going Jyu, like the place?" said someone in the seat right in front of them. "Huh? Wh-," Jyu was confused to answer his question because he didn't know who was asking him. "Good afternoon, Mr. Wolfe." Yuna greeted while bowing respectfully. "Wolfe? GRAMPS?" Jyu's voice echoed in the room. Wolfe appeared from behind his chair and was seen wearing the same uniform but he only used it as a cloak-like outer coat. "Ahahaha! I told you at home yesterday," Wolfe replied excitedly. "Didn't you say it was only a reserve?" asked Jyu again. "Atleast i'm able to meet my grandfather again, even though he used to teach me basic martial arts, well. I don't really know if it's real martial arts or just a made up one," said Jyu in his heart. "Yes, that's true, but the situation has now made it possible for me to step in. By the way, let me introduce you to the person who will be your personal assistant and instructor in using your powers, but I think you guys are already acquainted," Wolfe said while pointing at Yuna. Another question was asked by a confused Jyu, "Assistant? Trainer?" "Yuna, show him the room he needs," Wolfe continued as he returned to his seat. "Yes sir, follow me Jyu," Yuna invited. Jyu muttered to herself, not knowing what to say, "Ah. Okay."
