Chapter 04 | Training Pt. 1

Jyu followed Yuna out of the room and back down the long, wide hallway from before.

They walked out of the main building where there was a view of the entire AGF facility and high-rise buildings, right in front after exiting the main building directly encountered by a field and a large gate with the name of the association.

"Which city are we in? It says. Korea? Seoul?" thought Jyu.

Yuna glanced at Jyu who looked lost and revealed something to him, "Maybe you're confused but we are now in Seoul, South Korea. And the place where you met Mr. Wolfe was in the Maldives."

"Is Seoul the main headquarters for AGF? Why is my grandfather housed here, when his origin is not from South Korea," Jyu interrupted Yuna's statement.

"Honestly, I don't know the reason either, but if you're concerned about language, just calm down everyone in this world already uses English as a universal language, and that's also since Abyss and Awakened creatures started appearing, it's a bit strange, but that's how it is. Oh yeah, there is no such thing as the main place for AGF, you could say that the reputation here is pretty good compared to other places, but the AGF with the highest reputation is in the US," Yuna explained.

"Hmm. Eh, where are we going?" Jyu asked again.

"We're going to practice," said Yuna.

Continuing their journey, they headed towards a large building that was connected to an open passage they were passing through. From the outside, they could see that the roof formed a thick arch, many windows both large and small were installed and large outdoor blower units were installed throughout the building. They entered through double doors made of glass that opened automatically.

"*whistle* Wow, it's spacious," Jyu praised as he walked and looked around.

The building was quite large, with high ceilings that reflected the sound of each step and the clatter of training equipment neatly arranged at the sides of the room. The large lamps above cast bright light, dispelling shadows from every corner of the room, with open observation decks set up on both long sides of the building. As for the ground floor, there were only a few thin mattresses installed in a square shape at the end, there were also shelves of weapons both real and fake that were commonly used for training.

"So, what kind of training are we going to do?" he asked another question.

"Mana control. From what I've seen, the mana on your body is quite a lot—No, not quite a lot but a LOT, but it's useless if it doesn't fit together, no wonder Mr. Wolfe asked me to be your instructor," Yuna replied while putting her bag on a bench not far from the centre of the building.

"Oh yeah, almost forgot, I haven't really introduced myself properly. My name is Yuna, AGF Seoul's management division, your personal assistant and temporary instructor, and also a Tier 1 Awakened," Yuna continued.

The world has now completely changed, since the arrival of the Abyss 20 years ago. Now humans who have power or so called Awakened are given a level according to how much mana they have. Mana itself also appeared along with the arrival of the Abyss, many speculate that mana exists because the Abyss creatures brought it along with themselves.

Based on their mana and achievements, the lowest tier is Tier 5 and the higher it is, the higher it goes up to Tier 1, there is also a follow-up tier called Ex-Tier where only a handful of people can reach this tier.

"Eh? Tier 1?" Jyu chuckled at Yuna's words.

"SERIOUSLY? THIS PERSON IS THAT STRONG?" he thought.

"There's a reason I'm your instructor," Yuna replied with a grin.

Hearing that, Jyu lowered his head and muttered, "Damn."

"Relax~ I'm not gonna be that harsh—Not yet, hehe." said Yuna in a joking tone.

"Huh. Alright, what about the practice," said Jyu resignedly.

Yuna walked to the centre and stood right in front of Jyu, after looking around for a while she began to sit cross-legged on the floor then closed her eyes. "Follow me," Yuna invited.

Jyu followed Yuna's lead, sat cross-legged and began to close his eyes. " I've done it," he said.

"First, feel the mana in your body, assume there is some kind of additional organ that contains all the mana in your body, imagine it is in the middle of your body, no need to be too specific about its shape, the important thing is that it is there," Yuna explained.

Usually Awakened humans can immediately use mana as they wish, but Jyu cannot because he was not exposed to it at all since childhood and his mana was locked by his parents for unknown reasons, his mana was only opened when his grandfather made him faint. Even so he still didn't know what mana is or how to control it, so all this time he lived like an ordinary human.

"Hmm. It's a bit ambiguous, but I see the point," he thought.

Jyu visualised according to Yuna's instructions, it didn't take long for him to create a mana reservoir in his body, then he began to collect all the mana wandering around in his body into his auxiliary organ.

"Hoo. That's fast," Yuna admired Jyu.

In the eyes of ordinary people Jyu was just meditating, but for people who have mastered mana they are able to see all the processes that occur.

"The reason why mana must be collected is so that you can use it more efficiently and not cause you to experience problems related to mana. In the past, there were people who had mana complications because they didn't do what you are doing now," Yuna explained.
