Chapter 07 | Rift

She picked up her mobile phone, and started talking to the person she was talking to, "WHAT?! RIFT APPEARED IN SEOUL? Okay, I'll get ready," After hanging up, she picked up her bag on the bench, "Ah, Jyu let's stop training first, I have to get ready because the rift is quite close to this base," she said as she rushed out.

Jyu followed Yuna to leave the training building and walked to his room. Passing through the same hallway and courtyard, he saw more and more people passing by as a result of the situation that had arisen.

"I just realised, there are several demi-humans here, I'm also getting to see the mana of each person here, every demi-human I see also has an average mana that is more than ordinary humans. This is really interesting, especially from this elf, he seems to have superior mana than all the sub demi-humans here, even most of the people here," he thought.

"You are. Sir Wolfe's grandson right?" the elf asked. A soft spoken voice similar of that to his grandfather.

"Hahaha, I'm surprised the Young Master would know, so let me introduce myself, my name is Sergei of the demi-human sub-elven race, Ex-Tier, also the right-hand man of Sir Wolfe," Sergei greeted.

So, I don't want to disrespect Sir Wolfe's name because I only want to boast," Sergei replied, smiling at Jyu. His warm smile left Jyu in awe of him, who would have thought that someone as strong as Sergei could have the warmth that he had only found in his grandfather.

During their conversation, alarms were still ringing along the hallway, but they both seemed to ignore them and focus on their in-person meeting. Until at some point, the loudspeaker announced something, "CALL TO SERGEI, REQUESTED IMMEDIATELY TO COMMAND ROOM."

"Ah, a call for me, perhaps we'll talk further after this Young Master," Sergei said as he bowed to Jyu as a sign of respect to him.

"Ah. Okay." Jyu muttered a little confused at Sergei's behaviour just now as if he was a very important person, but he tried to forget it and walked back to his room.

Sergei who had just entered his room immediately faced Wolfe who was standing watching the commotion, "Sergei, the rift has appeared for about 7 minutes, from the calculations in the field it seems that the rift is almost reaching A Grade, which means we only have 3 minutes to prepare," Wolfe explained.

"Location?" asked Sergei. To which Wolfe immediately replied, "Yongsan Park," after getting the answer from him, Sergei thought to himself while looking at a tablet in front of him, there were all the guild positions in Seoul, especially the closest to the scene.

Newly appeared Rifts usually take 10 to 30 minutes to fully open and that's when the Abyss will swarm out to destroy what they see, usually after stopping the invasion of the Abyss, the Awakened will enter the Rift to forcibly close it by destroying the resources of the Rift itself which resembles a mana stone but in a larger size.

"What about the Han guild, they have jurisdiction in the area close to the Han River, if we look at the distance from their guild office, we can predict that they will come sooner," Sergei explained.

"Hmm. Alright, contact the Han guild, quickly!" Wolfe said to his subordinates.

"Yes, sir!" replied the whole team in the room.

Wolfe sat back in his chair and Sergei stood next to him, from where they could see everyone working with all their might. Online conversations were everywhere, more and more people were passing by as if they were in a critical condition. One of the operators appointed as the mediator between the federation and the guild, he was talking to the guild representative, giving information about the rift and the location where the rift was located.

"Sir! They have departed!", a remark that was very important to Wolfe, because thanks to it he could calmly supervise without having to worry about the damage that might occur due to the delay of the Awakened.

As the representative of the Awakened, AGF is highly regarded by the community, not only in maintaining security from the Abyss, but also from the Awakened who are unwilling to take part in guarding their neighbourhood. There are many guilds that only think of personal gain in this process, and it is the duty of the AGF to punish a guild or Awakened who disobeys in order to maintain the welfare of humanity. Fortunately, in the case of Seoul, the head of the branch here was led by an Awakened who had an outstanding track record while he was still active in his duties.
