Marry Me

Five years later, on a road in the heart of City X. "Mr. Johnson, there seems to be a car accident ahead. I guess we'll be stuck for some time." While the driver spoke, he cast a glance at the man who was reading through some documents on his laptop through the rearview mirror. As the years passed, the man looked more mature and tough. His eyelashes were long and lush, but his temperament had grown more frigid and arrogant. Arthur pinched his forehead and looked out of the window— A black Audi sped by. The car looked very ordinary, but the window was down, revealing a woman's exquisite side profile. One look was enough to make Arthur tense up. The woman was very beautiful. Arthur had only gotten one quick glance, but he could see her red hair blowing in the wind and her pursed red lips that looked like rose petals. Beautiful women were everywhere, no matter the flirtatious type or the innocent type. However, that woman looked so familiar that Arthur lost his composure. "Turn around and follow that car!" Arthur spoke very fast, as if he was afraid he would miss something. The car was already a black speck in the distance, making Arthur feel more anxious. Lucy! That was Lucy Morgan! He was bursting with joy. He had to get a hold of her! "Huh?" The driver was confused. " Was Arthur actually cancelling a meeting that could earn him millions just to chase after an Audi? "Turn the car around!" Arthur growled. The driver jumped with fear and stepped on the gas. ... Ten minutes later, the Audi slowly came to a stop near a high-end restaurant. Following the clicking sound of high heels and a pleasant ring of a bell, the restaurant's door was pulled open. A few men widened their eyes at once. The woman, who was wearing a smooth dress that accented her beautiful figure and a pair of transparent five-inch heels, twined a lock of her curly red hair and sat down opposite a decent-looking man. Lucy smiled. "Sorry I'm late." The man opposite her was about forty years old. He looked at his wristwatch from time to time, evidently impatient. He was frowning. "It's okay. What would you like to drink?" The man pretended to be a gentleman, but he couldn't stop himself from eyeing Lucy's chest. Right then, a waiter came over, and Lucy tapped her finger lightly in a casual manner. "Get me a glass of Agremur Blanc. I haven't eaten anything on the way, so I'll have one of this and this." That restaurant charged really high prices, but Lucy didn't check the price and ordered a few things. The man's expression darkened. After the waiter wrote her order down, he asked the man, "Sir, what would you like?" "I'll have a cup of coffee." The man glanced at the menu while frowning deeply. Lucy was indeed very beautiful, but she spent too lavishly. There were so many other restaurants out there, but she just had to choose a place where a single bottle of wine cost more than a thousand dollars. Lucy was undeniably gorgeous, and she ran her own company independently, so she had many pursuers. In that day and age, there weren't many women with such good looks and wealth. Although she was already 28 years old and couldn't be considered very young, she had her own company. 'When I pursue her ina success, won't I get her and her money at the same time?' At that thought, the man held back and did not complain. Lucy twirled her long hair casually and said with a smile, "Mr. Adkins, what did you ask me out to discuss?" The man took a deep breath and burst out confidently, "Lucy, I want to propose to you. Marry me!" Lucy was stunned. She wasn't expecting him to pull this card on her. He kept blinking his tiny eyes, but instead of it making him look charming, it made him look nasty. What a turn-off. "Mr. Adkins, I don't think we know each other that well yet." Lucy frowned. "It doesn't matter, we can slowly grow feelings. Think about it, you're almost thirty and I'm not young anymore. Although I have a son, he's a very good boy. If we get married, I'll treat you well." He spoke in a rush. At the same time, the waiter served their food and all sorts of appetizing dishes were spread on the table. Lucy didn't say anything, but her hands beneath the dining table were tightly clenched. She really wanted to pour the cup of coffee on his face. What should she do? "Mr. Adkins, I'm sorry. My son is only four years old, and he is at a sensitive age..." "You...what did you say?" The man's expression suddenly changed. "You have a four-year-old child?" Lucy pretended to be embarrassed and nodded. "Yes, but Mr. Adkins, if you..." Before she could finish speaking, someone lifted her off her chair forcefully. "Ah, let go of me!" When Lucy finally looked up, she looked into a pair of dark, cold eyes that bore a look of intense fury! Even though they hadn't seen each other in five years, she could still recognize him at one glance. What was Arthur doing here? All of a sudden, she felt as if she had fallen into icy water. Arthur was very tall, nearly 1.9 meters and slender. His black coat was flapping aesthetically from his earlier action. Run, escape quickly! Realizing this, Lucy hastily struggled to run away. However, before she could take more than two steps, she was pulled backwards, and she bumped into his sturdy chest. Hearing the sound of his heartbeat, she felt like crying. Arthur could no longer control himself. He bent down and picked her up, then walked out of the restaurant in long strides. Mr. Adkins was left standing where he was, gaping in surprise speechlessly. ... In the dim parking lot, Lucy's panicked voice sounded more and more forlorn. Lucy struggled with all her might. She said with a panicked expression, "Mister, I don't know you. Please let go of me!" It had been five years! She wasn't expecting to meet him again in her lifetime! However, Lucy had already made up her mind to insist that she did not know him. She continued looking frightened with her red-rimmed eyes, as if she was indeed that innocent and harmless. From Arthur's angle, he could see Lucy's beautiful face. Five years had not changed her much, as if time had stopped still. She evidently gave off a tempting and mature aura, and her expression of weakness did not suit her at all. Her soft, red hair made her look pale and weak. Hearing Lucy's denial, Arthur gritted his teeth and pressed her against the wall. He leaned very close to her, their noses almost touching. "Lucy, you dare say that you don't know me?" She was alive... She was really alive! Before he could even get his ecstasy under control, he saw her going on a blind date at a restaurant! What's more, her resistance towards him made it obvious that she wanted to draw the line between them. That was enough to make him burn with rage! "If you don't let me go, I'm calling the police. You're a bastard. It's against the law—oh!" He had actually lost control!
