Elena’s POV
I barely had a moment to catch my breath before Zaky’s warning hit me like a storm. Magmus and Sara had been lying all along; every injection, every nerve treatment was just a carefully staged show to make me feel better, to trick Eric into believing I was recovering. My pulse spiked.
“So what’s actually in that vial? Poison?” I asked, my voice tight.
Zaky shook his head. “Ironically, no. It’s a supplement. Extremely strong, but harmless on its own.”
I froze. A supplement? That didn’t make sense. Magmus wasn’t the type to be generous.
