Chapter 17: The Omega

When a seven-years old-Noah went to a primary school for the first time, he learned the ugly truth about the werewolf rank. In the hidden village of Daesangdong, the Cheong pack had its own school exclusive for werewolves. However, no matter how young the werewolves were, they could sense the status of each werewolf that they saw.
Most of the werewolves despised Omega. Their frail body made them unsuitable for battle, which only made them a burden inside the pack.
Therefore, no kids in school wanted to play with Noah. They glared whenever Noah came nearby, not only because he was a mix-blood but also an omega.
Yet, nobody dared to harass him physically, because his father was the Alpha of Cheong pack. They just shunned him and called him names once in a while.
Even his cousin Hyukjin, who normally talked to him in the packhouse, gave him a cold shoulder inside the school and let Noah suffer by himself.
Yes, the seven-years old-Noah was lonely and hurt. Luckily, his parents always encouraged him and thought him to be stronger; which made the twenty-one-years old-Noah a formidable fighter even if he was an omega.

It was a peaceful night at the Black River. You can clearly hear the murmur of the stream flowing in the river, the sounds of cricket chirping happily toward each other, and the sound of owl tu-whit tu-whoo harmoniously under the full moon. Yes, it was a perfectly peaceful night at the Black River, until the sound of clanking weapons from the two Luna destroyed the peace.
With a vicious sneer plastered on her face, Brianna Violet aggressively shot her nail to her opponent from a distance. But Noah saw it coming and deflected it right away with his dagger.
Clank! Clank! Clank!
‘I see, so she has Luna’s claw,’ Ruiz explained, ‘her nail can act as a projectile weapon and quickly regrow after being detached. Normally it's not too dangerous, but because she is part of the Violet pack, her claws may contain violet poison as well.’
‘Don't worry Ruiz I will be careful,’ Noah replied to his inner wolf and at the same time counter Brianna’s attack by throwing his silver dagger toward her.
She quickly jumped sideward to avoid it.
“Is that all you can do omega?” Brianna mocked and prepared to shoot other nails.
However, when she was about to shoot, the dagger that Noah threw before, bounced back toward her and cut deeply on her elbow. It made her attempt to shoot Noah fail.
Noah took his returning dagger with ease.
“Bloody hell! Is that a silver weapon?” Brianna grimaced. She was in pain, “You’re using a hunter weapon! Dirty omega…you are a disgrace to your own kind!” Brianna screamed and shot three nails at Noah.
Clank! Clank! Clank!
Noah parried all her nails and sighed. “You have a big mouth for a beta who sneaked attack someone from behind,” Noah replied nonchalantly.
“Shut up you dirty mutt!” she roared and shot rapidly the remaining attached nails to Noah.
With his twin dagger, Noah tried to parry all of her attacks; but it was too much and one nail successfully hit his left arm. He quickly yanked it out before the poison entered his body.
“Ah... poor dirty mutt, It seems that you got hit.” She was smiling smugly, “Don't worry, my nail contains violet poison, you will die before you know it,” she let an evil chuckled.
“Violet poison? You mean the legendary poison that I can easily neutralize,” Noah focused his power on the wounded part. The white glow suddenly appeared and instantly healed the wound. Noah smiled satisfied, which annoyed his opponent greatly.
‘Noah, my power is draining low, we can’t manage to get another hit and must finish her off, immediately!’ Ruiz rued. ‘You should have eaten more food at the party!’
‘I would if that maniac didn't grope me. I am sorry Ruiz, I’ll be careful next time,’
Noah observed Brianna before launching a counterattack. She just stood by while waiting for her nail to regrow.
‘It seems that she ran out of nails, she probably needs some time to grow it all, quickly Noah this is our chance to charge!’ Ruiz howl to encourage Noah.
Noah ran toward Brianna with high speed.
He pointed his dagger and slashed her repeatedly.
Brianna who was defenseless without her nails tried to dodge the attack but some of it managed to hit her.
She was wounded and her leather jacket was torn severely.
Now, she was enraged.
After her claws regrow, Brianna tried to stab Noah aggressively, but Noah deflected her attack and at the same time cut her nail short with his dagger.
Then, he swiftly launched a powerful somersault kick that threw Brianna away for a few meters until she hit the tree.
“How was my free manicure service?” Noah teased.
‘Tsk,’ Brianna simpered while enduring the pain.
‘How can he be so strong? He is just a f*****g omega. The weakest and lowest in the werewolf rank!’ Brianna wondered while channeling her energy to heal herself. She tried to seal the cutting wound to prevent blood loss. It was the common first aid skill that was taught to every werewolf warrior. ‘Damn! The healing is wearing out my wolf energy.’
While Brianna recovered, Noah ordered Toby to bring Terry and ran away.
Toby agreed, he carried Terry on his shoulder and ran quickly toward the entrance of the secret tunnel.
Brianna, who was upset when she saw Toby fleeing, shoot him with her nail. “I won't let my prey go away!”
Noah spontaneously used his dagger to deflect it.
Clank!
Toby froze when he realized that he almost got hit. He trembled while his hands squeezed on Terry’s hips.
“Run Toby! Run!” Noah shouted, he tried to resuscitate Toby from his fear.
“O-okay,” he stuttered and ran quickly.
Noah released a long sigh when he saw Toby went far away. Now He could focus only on fighting Brianna.
“Why are you protecting him? He is just an omega, his life is worthless!”
‘Worthless?’ That word recalled the unpleasant trauma of Noah’s childhood.
Regardless, Noah didn't respond to Brianna’s mockery; he just stood still, waiting for his opponent to initiate an attack.
Brianna laughed, “Even though you are protecting him, my nails will always get their target.” Brianna stretched her arms and shot all her nails away, it was widely spread beyond Noah’s reach, “don't underestimate me omega…” she slyly smiled.
Noah knew that her nails weren’t meant for him, it was aimed for Toby and it after him like a missile. So, instead of attacking Brianna, Noah quickly turned around and chased the nails.
‘WEAK! WORTHLESS!’ the words that his childhood friends suddenly haunted his mind again, disturb his concentration.
‘Noah, stop reclining to the past!’ his inner wolf warned him, ‘you must concentrate to destroy the nails before they hit him.’
‘You’re right Ruiz, I am sorry…’
Noah dashed quickly and slashed one Nail.
Clank!
‘One down, nine more to go.’
It was too hard for him to see a thin projectile at night, so he borrowed Ruiz's eyes and combined it with his power.
‘Now I can see it clearly, there are five nails in the straight line,’
Noah threw his dagger and it hit the nails exactly in a row.
Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank! Clank!
The dagger returned to Noah's hand while he was running.
‘Six down, four more to go.’
His blue orb wildly began to search the remaining nails while avoiding the trees that were blocking his way.
Soon after, he could see the remaining nails almost reach Toby, so he focused his power on his feet, jumping wildly while destroying the nails one by one.
Clank! Clank! Clank!
‘Nine down, only one more left!’ Ruiz cheered.
Noah kept running to chase the last nail, even though he began to feel exhausted. He was panting, a white haze was coming from his mouth.
Noah was just a few feet away from Toby, unfortunately, he was too slow for the last nail, “Toby watch out!” he shouted.
Toby, who heard the warning, turned his body around only to feel a sharp object thrusting on his chest. He then fell down to the ground; leaning toward his brother while Terry was still attached to his back.
“NOOOOOO!” Noah cried in panic. He quickly came over Toby and pulled the poisonous nail away from his chest.
Noah focused his power on Toby’s wound. But his power didn’t come out.
‘Noah, I am sorry, I ran out of power!’ Ruiz whimpered.
‘Please Ruiz, I am begging you, only for this time, please help me!’ Noah Cried while still focusing his energy on the wound.
“I-I am not worthy of your power Noah, p-please just take my brother and go away,” Toby said. He was stuttering. He held Noah’s hand to stop the healing. “P-please Luna, you don't have to do this, I am just an omega.”
“NO! I won't let you die, Toby, I won't, cos every life matters!”
Noah was desperate, no matter how hard he tried, his power didn't come out, so he decided to pray and beg the Moon Goddess to help him.
‘Moon Goddess please, lend me your power to save this poor soul’
Soon after, a pure white glow shimmered from Noah’s hand and it began to neutralize the violet poison, which was already spreading inside Toby’s body.
‘Thanked the Goddess.’ Noah was relieved.
‘Watched out Noah, something fast is coming!’ Ruiz warned.
Clank! Clank!
Noah deflected the nails with ease. He already adapted to Brianna's attack pattern.
“I see, you managed to save him,” Brianna shouted from over the tree, she looked down at Noah and snorted. “Why are you trying so hard to save omega lives? They are worthless. That's why we killed all of them in our pack for the greater good.”
“You killed innocent omega in your pack?” Her words triggered Noah’s anger, he gripped his dagger tightly.
‘WORTHLESS! WEAK! USELESS!’ The slur was coming back into his mind.
“Yes, we sacrificed all of them to Moon Goddess. To extend the power of our Luna, unfortunately even the Moon Goddess didn't accept their dirty soul.” Brianna laughed.
‘DON’T PLAY WITH US, YOU WEAKLING!’
Noah glared at Brianna, “I won’t forgive you nor your pack!” His body began to emit white light. His eyes became flaring blue, aiming at Briana.
‘Noah… This power? How did you?’ Ruiz felt immense power coming from Noah’s body. ‘This power… could this be…’ but Ruiz's mind link was cut by Brianna's sudden attack.
Woosh!
Clank!
“Good, because we don't need your forgiveness!” she then shot her nail one by one from the top of the tree.
Noah jumped swiftly to the tree where Brianna was standing while deflecting her nails with his dagger at the same time.
Clank! Clank! Clank!
As soon as Noah landed on the tree branch, he came closer to his opponent, and then quickly slashed Brianna’s right arm with his dagger.
Brianna's right hand detached from her body as she screamed in agony. “You filthy omega! How dare you!” she jumped down to the ground and flipped backward, avoiding Noah’s repeated assault.
“This filthy omega will kill you, b***h!” Noah sneered. It made Brianna tremble. She never saw an omega filled with so much malice before.
Noah quickly followed her down to the ground and threw his daggers at Briana. To counter it, she transformed into a brown wolf and tried to bite Noah with her fangs.
But she forgot that Noah’s dagger could bounce back and it slashed her stomach into two parts. While the remaining dagger in Noah’s hand chopped her head off when she drew near at him.
Yes, during her lifetime, Brianna Violet had always despised the omega, their weak and frail body made them unsuitable for battle. She always thought that omega was nothing but a burden. But what she never expected, she would have died in the hand of the one that she despised most.

After killing Brianna, Noah walked toward Toby; a smile of relief was plastered on his face.
Toby who lied on the ground replied to him with a warm smile but then he changed his expression instantly. “Noah, behind you!” he screamed.
Something fast was coming from Noah’s back; but before he was able to turn around, a sharp object was plunged into his heart, making him fell unconscious on the ground.
Yes, Viviane Violet has injected violet poison into Noah’s heart. She looked at her victim with hatred and screamed, “DIE YOU OMEGA!”
