Chapter 16: The Luna’s Power

Moon Goddess presented the Luna of every pack with a special power. The power that was born as soon as s/he met an Alpha mate. Yet, Luna's power varied for each person, some were good some were normal and some were very special.

Luna’s power contributed greatly to pack strength and survival. Therefore, every Luna tried to push their power beyond the limit. One could extend her power with a long extensive training, the other used a forbidden ritual that required the lives of innocence.

After her husband died at the hand of Thomas Silvermoon, Viviane Violet swore for vengeance. However, at that time, her power was not good enough to eliminate the Silvermoon Pack. Her power can be applied only to one person. Hence, she had trained many years to extend her power limit, but the outcome was unsatisfactory.

Desperate for revenge, she took a shortcut by performing forbidden dark art. She had sacrificed the lives of all omegas in her pack. Unfortunately, her power didn't increase one bit.

So she came to her last attempt. She decided to conduct the most demonic method that no mother had done before, she chose to sacrifice her youngest daughter, Cecilia, to the moon goddess. It shattered her heart to see her child die miserably by her own hand. Viviane cannot stop crying during the ritual, especially when she saw Cecilia’s blood filled the room. She soon regretted her deed and hoped that she could undo what she had done. But it was all too late…

Soon after, the sacrificial room turned into darkness as the moon goddess showed her appearance only in front of Viviane Violet. Her white long dress was flowing dramatically, her long white silver hair balanced with her pale skin, and her blue eyes glared coldly at Viviane.

“O the wicked one, I am granting you the aura of poison, the sinister power filled with a pestilence that reflects the unforgivable sins that you have done!” her voice jarring in Viviane’s ear.    

Yes, the moon goddess finally granted Viviane her wish, which may assist her pursuit of revenge. With her ultimate power, she determined that she could bring the end of the Silvermoon pack. She had been plotting her plan carefully to determine the appropriate time to strike. However, when she heard the rumors about the future Luna of Silvermoon pack and his power; she became uneasy and quickly changed her mind. She decided to attack the Silvermoon pack as soon as possible.

Right now, Viviane was sitting in her bedchamber, looking at her family album. The murky room made her long black hair clearly glistened under the moonlight that came through the window. Her skin looked pale and her black round eyes looked teary. She smiled vividly when she recalled the sweet memories of the past. The happy time when her family was complete.

While skimming the photo album slowly, she was also expecting good news coming from her son, Zack Violet, concerning the attempt of the surprise attack. Unexpectedly, the news that she received first hand was not coming from her son, but from her daughter in law, Brianna Violet. 

Brianna was stationed at the Black River as a backup unit, just in case, something bad happened to her husband, Zack. Anyhow, the news that she sent was surprisingly intriguing. 

‘Mother, you maybe cannot believe this, but it seems that the rumors were true after all,’ Brianna contacted her mother in law through the mind link. ‘I think he can cure the poison?’

‘He? Did you mean the future Luna of Silvermoon pack?’ Viviane replied.

‘Yes mother, do you want me to kill him now?’

‘If he can cure the poison, then we are in trouble; we need to eliminate him immediately!’ Viviane gripped the armrest of the chair, she became tense. ‘I will come over there and bring more men.’

‘I don't think it will be necessary mother, it's only two of them and they are just omegas. I can finish them easily with my eyes close.’

‘Very well then, but I will come just in case the Silvermoon sends a search party to find him.’

‘As you wished mother.’ Brianna agreed with her mother in law. She also thought that Viviane’s decision was wise.

After Viviane disconnected the mind link with Brianna, she rose from her chair and tidied up her long Celtic dress with her hands. The dress colored dark purple with a low cut that barely covered her busty breast and silky fabric, and made her look graceful when she walked.

After she left her chamber, a young girl approached her, “Mother, are you going somewhere?”

“Yes Cecilia, I will go for a while,” she smiled at her and continued to walk downstairs.

“But mother…” the girl paused, “I am not Cecilia, I am Lydia your second…”

Viviane suddenly stopped moving. She turned her back and observed her second daughter Lydia carefully. She smiled warmly at her, “of course you are, I am sorry to mistake you with your sister,” she approached Lydia slowly and caressed her silky black hair, “I will return before you know it, you just go sleep.”

“But mother, almost all warriors in the house have gone with Zack and Brianna. Is our pack in war? If so, I want to go too. Please mother, let me join you!”   

“No, Lydia, you cannot go!” Viviane sternly replied. “Now listen to your mother and return to your room!”

Disappointed with her mother's decision, Lydia stomped her foot to the floor before she retreated to her room.

Viviane knew that she had upset her daughter, but she couldn’t bear to lose another one. So she chose to focus on her mission instead, which was to bring down the reign of Silvermoon. After all that she had sacrificed, she would never let anyone put her effort in vain.

After Drake told him that Noah was gone, Ken Byrd decided to search for Noah all over the mansion. He had searched everywhere, but couldn't find him until he came to Thomas's office and discovered that the secret path behind the paintings was opened.

Ken decided to bring the unpleasant news to Alpha Thomas, who was currently in the front yards, observing his son brutally killing the Violet men one by one.

“Alpha, apparently Noah used the secret path in your office,” Ken said, leaning down to Thomas, so he could hear him clearly.

“The secret path? But how did he know it?” Thomas asked Ken, he was confused.

Thomas then looked to his wife. They stared at each other and suddenly came to the conclusion, “Toby!” they said precisely at the same time.

“He probably knew the secret tunnel in my office by accident,” Thomas guessed. “But why did he bring Noah there? What is wrong with that boy?”

“We can question him later, our priority now is to bring back Noah here safely,” Lea said. “I will look for Noah to Black River,” she decided.

“Then I go with you,” Thomas insisted.

“No dear, you should stay here and help our son to kill Violet men before the effect of Noah’s power is gone.” She looked at Drake who had already killed 20 of Violet's men by himself. However, he had 30 men left to go. “We ate his dish before at the restaurant and knew that Noah’s power won’t last forever.”

Thomas tried to recall his memory, “yes, you were right, the effect lasts approximately about 2 hours.”

“And we only have about 30 minutes left until the effect is gone. Honey, you and the others should help our son kill those men quickly, let me and Ken search for Noah.” 

“I think it was a good plan Alpha,” Ken added.

“Okay, but be careful!” Thomas warned his wife and Ken, “I heard that the Violet pack house was located near the Black River,”

“Don't worry Alpha, we will proceed carefully,” Ken reassured Alpha Thomas. 

“I promise Lea I will join you later, As soon as I kill these men.” Thomas reluctantly let go of his wife. But he knew there is a pressing matter he must settle immediately. 

While Thomas gave the order to his men to aid Drake in the fight, Ken and Lea hurriedly went to search for Noah. They followed Noah’s trail to Black River, hoping that it was not too late to find him.

Meanwhile in the Black River, when Noah was almost finished healing Terry, suddenly Ruiz warned him about something fast coming to his way.

‘Noah, look out!’ Ruiz screamed inside his mind.

Woosh! Woosh! Woosh!

Noah quickly drew his silver dagger out of his bag and parried the sharp projectile-like bullet.

Clank! Clank! Clank!

Toby was surprised by the attack; he trembles while holding up his brother's hand.

“Who’s there?” Noah shouted to a shadowy figure that was standing on the tree’s branch.

“Not bad… I never knew that Omega could put a fight… This will be more interesting than I thought.” The mysterious attacker then landed on the ground, she moved toward the brighter area and let the moonlight uncover her face. “My name is Brianna, Brianna Violet, the future Luna of Violet pack.”

She displayed her long straight claws and licked her lips while preying to Noah and Toby. She wore a skin-tight black leather jacket with a high-cut mini skirt, black sheer stocking, and black leather boots. Her curly brunette hair was cut short. 

“What do you want?” Noah asked again, while his left hand signaling Toby to stand behind him.

Brianna smiled wickedly, “Simple, I just want you dead.”

“But I won’t just give my life away without a fight,” Noah replied.

“My thoughts exactly.” Brianna prepared her stance to attack. Her nails became glowing in violet.

Ruiz growled in Noah’s mind, ‘Careful Noah, she is a beta wolf and has a Luna power too. She seemed to be a well-trained warrior. We cannot underestimate her!’

‘I see’ Noah replied. He focused his Luna’s power on himself, making his body shimmering a pure white light. He was ready to fight Brianna anytime with his twin silver dagger gripped in his hands.

Indeed, Moon Goddess has presented the Luna of every pack with a special power. The power varied for each Luna, some were good some were normal and some were very special. However, when the two Luna fought, the victor would be determined on whose power was better.
