Damien’s body twisted up into a macabre shape and melded into a pile of sand. The next gust of wind blew the sand away and there was nothing there to see anymore.  He was gone just like that. “It’s over,” Lucian announced. He still couldn’t quite believe he had killed Damien. Their long friendship had culminated in his death. It felt a little sardonic. “Hand the sword back,” Aubyn instructed. “It was the agreement.” Lucian passed the sword back with a careful hand.
