Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight Sage River tossed his football to me, and I had to run up to catch it, but I did catch it. “Hey! I finally caught one!” “Great. Now, toss it back to me and try to make sure I can catch it this time.” He held out his hands, and I tried to aim the ball right at them. But for some reason, it was way too low and ended up falling into the water as we stood in the surf. “Mom, you throw like a girl.” “Because I am one,” I pointed out. Snatching up the ball before it was pulled out to sea, he splashed water as he ran past me. “I hear the ice cream truck. Can we get some?” “Sure.” I followed him to the car in the parking area so I could get some money out of my purse. “I hope they have bomb pops. I used to love those when I lived here.” “I want something covered in chocolate.”
