Chapter Nine Callan Pulling up next to the curb at Sage’s parents’ house, I was happy to see her little black car not in the drive. That meant she couldn’t run out and keep me from getting inside to meet her family. Striding up to the front door, I rang the bell, and in no time, a man answered it. “Oh, hello there.” “I’m Callan Duran. Is Sage home?” I knew she wasn’t but I didn’t quite know where to start things with the man I thought must be her father. “No, she and her son went to the beach today and haven’t made it back yet.
