Chapter Ten
Sage
Pulling up to my parents’ house, I couldn’t help but notice the tall, red truck that belonged to Callan. “No way.” Slowing to a stop, I wasn’t sure what to do. I couldn’t let him see River.
All of a sudden, the back door of the car flew open, and River went running toward the house. “I gotta pee, Mom!”
“River, no!” He couldn’t hear me as he had already gotten to the house and was inside before I knew it. “f**k me!”
This was it. My worst freaking nightmare. Callan and River were about to meet. The fallout would be insane.
Pulling into the drive, I parked my car, then made myself go inside. I couldn’t look at anyone as I came through the door, so I kept my eyes glued to the floor.
“Sage, did you see that Callan’s stopped by?” my mother asked.
“Uh huh.” I hit the stai
