Maxine “Mom?” “Mom!” I yelled. I ran downstairs to turn on the kitchen tap as well. Still no water. What is going on? The water isn’t turning on in my room, the bathroom downstairs, or the kitchen. I ran to my mom’s room and into her bathroom. Same thing. “Mom!” I woke her up. “The shower isn’t working, we don’t have water,” I said. “Max,” she groaned. I should let her sleep—she just got back from work—but I need to get to school. “Mom, get up,” I shook her body. “What is it, baby?” She asked, her eyes still closed. “We don’t have water,” I said. “Yeah, I noticed that when I got back literally thirty minutes ago. Something must be wrong with the pipes or something. I’ll have it checked out later,” she said. “Well, how do I get to school this morning? I need to have my bath,”
