Lucy POV
Will tumbles into the pit, and my cry emerges like a wounded creature.
I extend both arms even as Grey grips me around my waist to keep me balanced.
My hands grasp nothing but the void. My heart breaks into a multitude of pieces since Will has gone away again. Tears pour down my face as I yell and weep intensely.
Grey yanks me back forcefully. Holds me tightly against his chest. His entire body trembles with sobbing as he repeatedly whispers “sorry..sorry ..sorry.”
I shove him away because I want to leap after Will, but he refuses to release me.
His arms were strong around me. He weeps into my hair as though he’s mourning his dearest friend.
The tower emits frightening cracking noises as dust descends upon us.
Grey hauls me up the steps as I sob and attempt to glance down towards Will.
He wipes away his tears using his sleeve. “We have to leave now,” he said. We arrive at the summit more, and the breeze is chilly and fierce.
The large gap in the floor has grown larger. Rocks continue to drop. I drop to my knees. Sob into my palms because everything aches intensely.
Grey sits down next to me. Gently rests his arm across my shoulders.
I catch a sound from the opening, and my heart leaps. I quickly crawl to the rim. Peer down with wide eyes. A hand emerges from the darkness. Clutches the shattered floor.
Then another hand.
Will drags himself up gradually, his face covered in blood and grime. He climbs out. Collapses onto the ground, gasping for air.
“Will…” I shout with joy. Wrap my arms around his neck, and he holds me tightly, allowing me to feel his heart beating rapidly.
Will gently kiss my face and softly weep into my hair. His hands caress my cheeks and arms as if he struggles to believe I truly exist.
He chuckles. “I’m sorry, doll, for falling,” He whispered.
Grey assists Will, too, as they embrace like brothers. One was my husband, and another was my bodyguard, whom I love so much. Even with the pains, they would still tear apart hurt me more than anything. I remained still, maybe things would get better soon since Cullen and Nana are out of our lives.
Grey weeps on Will’s shoulder. Expresses gratitude for returning.
“We are family, from now on.” Will softly pats him on the back. They hold each other for a while as the tower shakes.
Will looks at the little black box still in my hand from Cullen, and he picks it up gently. Push the red button gradually.
No event. We all exhale deeply.
The tower stops shaking. The scary sounds go quiet.
Will grins faintly. Slips the box into his pocket. “The bombs are deactivated now and we’re secure.” He said.
I embrace him more since my legs feel joyful and shaky.
Grey wipes his eyes. Smiles too, with a grimy face.
We move gradually toward the steps that remain intact. Will leads the way, feeling each step carefully with his foot. He grips my hand firmly. Guides me down with care.
Grey grips my hand, causing me to feel safe tucked snugly among them.
The sirens become louder beyond the doors. Red and blue flashes shine through the panes. Will looks at us, his eyes filled with worry. He informs us that the police are coming. They continue to suspect his guilt.
Grey clasps my hand.
“Will run..” Grey urges Will, “I will talk to the police.”
“No..” Will shake his head. “
“we stay together.” I promptly nod because I can't allow Will to abandon me again.
We arrived at the base. Proceed through the large door cautiously. Numerous police vehicles were present, with flashing lights. Officers aim their weapons at us.
“Stand still…raise your hands,” the police yelled.
Will slowly lifts his hands. We do the same.
A voiced officer approaches. He glances at Will, then shifts his gaze to me, Grey, and.
His expression shows shock as he notices our clothes are soaked with blood. “What happened to the tower?” He asked
Grey. Speaks in a composed manner, and he reveals to the officer all the details regarding Cullen, Nana, and the explosives.
He states that Will rescued us, and he was the hero. The officer focuses attentively. His face softens.
The officer holsters his firearm. Pulls out a sheet of paper. He writes quickly. Gazes at Will, with apologetic eyes. He mentions that someone spent an amount to tarnish Will's reputation.
Nonetheless, Grey and I currently possess proof verifying that Will was dependable.
Will’s shoulders slump as if a heavy burden has been lifted. He draws me near. Presses a lengthy kiss on my forehead. Joyful tears fill my eyes knowing Will was finally free.
Grey beams broadly. Hugs us both.
“You all must visit the hospital for an examination.” The officer said and assisted us into an ambulance filled with comfortable beds. Will sits beside me and keeps holding my hand throughout the trip.
He kept staring at me like I was the most remarkable individual on earth.
In the hospital, compassionate doctors care for our injuries. They cover us with snug blankets. Throughout the stitching, he held my hand firmly. He gently kisses my fingers. “You are brave and strong.” He whispered.
Worn out from tears, I fall asleep resting my head on his shoulder.
A doctor enters with a grin and a document. He gazes at me. “Your father is alive, the helicopter touched down safely at a distance prior to the explosion.”
“Daddy is alive?” I asked, my voice filled with joy.
“Yes, he had been asking about you since he woke up,” the doctor said.
Will’s eyes widen, he smiles, and lifts me gently to my feet.
We laughed and cried together because my father would finally come home.
CHAPTER 29
Lucy POV
Will keeps spinning us while the doctor declares that Daddy is alive.
Joyful tears roll down our faces as we break into laughter, resembling kids who have just found delight.
Will gently place me down. He presses kisses on my cheeks, nose, and lips until I start to laugh, even though tears are flowing down my face.
In the corner, gray remains, eyes. Awake, graced by a grin. He moves forward gradually.
He opens his arms broadly, and I rush into them because he, too, contributed to saving us.
He holds me close. Gently sways me side to side, allowing joyful tears to drop onto my hair.
The physician stated that Daddy is presently admitted to a hospital, but he will get here by tonight.
He states that Daddy desires to be with his girl more than anything.
It feels as though wings are growing from my heart. Rising. I move up and down, grasping Will’s hand. At the time, Grey’s hand as well.
Will lifts me onto his hip like I was a child again. Carries me along the hallway.
With every moment, he plants a kiss on my cheek. He comforts me, promising that from this point on, all will be well.
Grey strolls beside us. He frequently brushes my arm softly as though worried I could disappear.
Our faces could be grimy. Exhausted. Everyone grins broadly.
Nurses bring clothes and warm food to us.
Will assists me in putting on a pink shirt and tenderly strokes my hair with his fingertips. He secures it using a rubber band, and he finds “you are my little princess.” He said, kissing my cheeks.
I feel bashful and joyful as I rest my head on his chest.
We sat next to each other on the hospital bed, both eating from a bowl of soup.
Will pass the spoons. He breathes on them to lower their temperature so they aren’t excessively hot.
Grey sits opposite. Sips a drink each time Will's focus wanders.
We chuckle softly because we are together like a family, at present.
A kind police officer walks in holding an envelope. He smiles softly and hands it over to Will.
Included are documents declaring Will as forever free and a champion.
There is also a letter from Daddy written before the bad night. Will reads it out loud with a shaky voice.
Daddy expresses regret for showing his weakness. Some time ago, he experienced fear. He states that he has always known Will cared about me and protected me.
He mentions that Will has given his consent for me to marry him whenever I choose to.
Tears up in Will’s eyes while he lifts his hand to shield his mouth. He looks at me as though he thinks the words are incredible.
I feel my cheeks flushing. My pulse is racing.
Grey beams broadly. Offers a tap on the back, much as a proud brother would.
Will gets down on one knee right there on the hospital floor, and he gently holds my hand. Looks up with gleaming eyes.
“Lucy Jones " he murmurs, "would you grant me the privilege to cherish and safeguard you forever each and every day, for all time?”
He lifts a box containing the ring that shines like the stars. I swiftly nod, tears stifling my voice before I manage to speak.
"Yes, yes, yes " I whisper finally. I encircle his neck with my arms.
He raises me higher. Spins me around again as we both release tears.
The door flies open suddenly. Bella dashes inside with her disheveled hair. Tears poured down her cheeks.
She sees us. Starts to weep.
She hurries toward me. Hold me tightly so I can feel her pulse.
“I'm sorry for coming late.” She said and brought an object with her. She pulls out a USB drive from her pocket.
She asserts that it holds every secret that Cullen and Nana have ever devised.
“I removed it from the safe before the fire began.” She then hands it over to Will.
Will looks at the drive, his eyes growing larger. He gently holds Bella closer, “thank you very much.” He said calmly.
Grey holds her close. Together they cry, mourning the loss of their father.
I grasp Bella’s hand. “from now on you are my sister.”
A nurse hurries in, her eyes. Softly talks to the doctor, the doctor looks at us with a demeanor.
“All expenses related to moving your father to a hospital have been fully covered by someone,” doctor said
“And the person who signed the papers is Nana.”
