Lucy POV
The big bell crashes down, and the whole tower shakes like a monster has woken up. Dust flies everywhere, and my ears ring loudly from the boom.
I fall on my knees, and my hands hurt from hitting the hard floor. Will lies on the ground, well, with blood on his head and his eyes appearing drowsy.
Cullen stumbles and almost falls, but catches himself on a wall. Nana grabs a big metal pole to stay standing, her face white with shock.
Grey crawls toward me and pulls me away from the big c***k in the floor.
His hands shaking, tears rolling down his face.
I crawl fast to Will and touch his face softly; his skin was warm, but he did not open his eyes.
I cried quietly and shook him gently because I was so scared he was gone. “Please wake up Will please please " I repeat softly as tears drip onto his shirt.
Grey puts his arms around me from behind and holds me tight. “He is breathing Lucy,” he said in my ear with a voice that cracked.
“I feel his heart is still beating.”
His words cause me to weep intensely, yet also bring a slight sense of joy.
Cullen shouts angry words at his men, who are all on the floor, too. He kicks one man to make him stand up faster.
His face was red, and his eyes looked crazy, like he was losing everything. Nana rushes toward him. Grasps his arm as she is trembling as well.
The tower makes scary creaking sounds like it wants to fall. Big pieces of stone drop from the ceiling and smash near us.
I cover Will with my body so the stones do not hit him. Grey wraps his jacket around both of us. Pulls us into a tight embrace.
“Get them!” Cullen points at us and screams for his men to grab me.
Two men start walking toward us slowly because they are scared of falling.
Their boots make loud noises on the broken floor. I clutch Will firmly and hope they won’t drag me off.
A big piece of the wall falls and blocks the men from reaching us.
Dust goes everywhere again, and the men cough and fall back.
“No…” Cullen yelled and kicked the stones like a little boy having a tantrum.
Nana drags him aside as additional stones continue to fall. The floor under Cullen and Nana cracks open wide.
They both scream and try to run. Nana falls first and grabs Cullen’s leg. They lean over the hole as one and shout for assistance.
Grey stands up fast and looks at them with big eyes. He takes one step forward, trying to save them.
His hands reach out, and tears fall down his face. “Mom, Dad," he shouts with a tone brimming with agony.
I stay with Will and hold his hand tight. His fingers move a little, and my heart jumps happily.
“please wake up.” I whispered and kissed his cheek softly.
His eyes gradually focus as he gazes at me with unfocused eyes. He coughs and tries to sit up, even when his head is bleeding.
He sees Grey standing near the hole and Cullen and Nana hanging. His face gets scared, and he tries to stand.
I support him gently as he feels lightheaded.
“Help us,” Cullen shouts at Grey to pull them up his voice is full of fear now, not anger.
“Please, Grey, help me.” Nana cries loudly and begs Grey to save her.
Her digits slide off the border. She lets out a scream. Grey looks at me and Will with tears running fast.
He looks back at his parents hanging, his whole body shakes, and he makes little crying sounds.
“I can’t reach you, " he murmurs as if his heart was shattering into two.
Will holds my hand, and we walk slowly towards Grey. The floor creaks under our feet, and it scares me.
Will place his arm around Grey’s shoulders gently. “You don’t need to save them " Will murmurs gently.
Grey turns and hugs Will tightly and cries into his shirt. Will hugs him back like a big brother.
I stand close and hold both their hands because we are all hurting. We see Cullen and Nana descend further.
Cullen looks up at Grey with angry eyes. “If I die you fall with me,” he yelled.
He pulls a little black box from his pocket and holds it up.
“With a press the entire tower would collapse " he said, grinning wickedly.
Nana cries harder and tries to grab the box away. They fight over it while hanging.
The box falls from Cullen’s hand and lands near my feet. I grab it swiftly and clutch it firmly.
“No,” Cullen screams and tries to climb up, but his fingers slip, and he falls down the big hole.
“Cullen…” Nana screams and falls after him, their screams gradually diminishing until silence prevails.
Grey falls on his knees and cries loudly like a baby, his body trembling, and he covers his face.
Will kneels and holds Grey closer while Grey cries for his father. I sit beside them. Weep silently for all that we have lost.
The tower keeps making scary sounds, and more stones fall. Will stands up slowly and pulls us both up.
“We have to leave now,” he said with a voice full of worry.
He grasps my hand. Grey’s hand as we cautiously make our way to the stairs.
Every step makes my heart race fast. Will goes first to test if the place is safe. He helps me slow down because my side still hurts.
Grey sticks close and grips the wall firmly. We are halfway down when the stairs c***k under Will.
He grabs me fast and pushes me to the side, the stairs fall away, and Will hangs by one hand.
“Will…” I shout his name. Stretch out to him.
Grey grabs my waist so I don't fall too. Will looks up at us with scared eyes.
His fingers
start to slip. “I adore you, doll," he said tearfully. His hand slips all the way, and he falls into the dark.
