In 1892, the Qing Dynasty stands on the brink of collapse, crushed between the greed of Western colonial powers and the rising ambitions of Japan. Lin Daxin, a young man born into a naval family, discovers an ancient ring that grants him an impossible ability: to travel through time. He can journey to the 21st century and return to the past carrying anything he has touched.

What the modern world sees as Cold War scrap—T-62 tanks, BTR-60 armored vehicles, and J-class submarines awaiting dismantlement—are, to Lin Daxin, divine weapons capable of rewriting history. Amid political intrigue involving Li Hongzhang, the Beiyang Fleet, and the looming threat of Tsarist Russia, Daxin secretly builds a force in the Northeast known as the Dingbei Army.

What happens when modern radar detects colonial wooden warships? Or when diesel-powered submarines sink Europe’s proud steel fleets? Lin Daxin does not merely seek survival—he is determined to ensure that, in this timeline, Asia’s glory will never fade.

Chapter One: Time Travel That Can Be Done Back and Forth
The ring's information also tells Lin Daxin that, through mental control, any object Lin Daxin touches will also travel between the two timelines. However, apart from the ring's owner, other living beings cannot travel between the two timelines, otherwise they will be annihilated by the time tunnel, leaving no trace. The ring is already bound to Lin Daxin; if anything happens to Lin Daxin, the ring will automatically destroy itself. Lin Daxin was bewildered by this unbelievable thing for a long time before he finally accepted the reality that he might really have been hit by a "pie"! He was immediately excited! Then Lin Daxin silently told himself to go back. Instantly, everything went black before his eyes, and the space around him distorted. When Lin Daxin opened his eyes, he found himself back on the same secluded path. It really is possible to travel back and forth between two timelines! Lin Daxin felt his heart pounding. This absolutely could not be known to anyone! He turned his head to look around and, making sure there was no one in sight, Lin Daxin calmed his nervous and excited heart and quickly ran towards Weihaiwei City. Weihaiwei is located at the tip of the Shandong Peninsula. Its harbor is semi-circular, with Liugong Island and Ri Island running through it, making it a strategically important location. By 1892, more than ten forts had been built on the north and south banks of Weihaiwei harbor, as well as on Liugong Island and Ri Island, equipped with over 100 modern cannons. Their combined firepower created a formidable defense, making it the location of the Beiyang Fleet and the Admiral's Office. This transformed the previously sparsely populated Weihaiwei into a prosperous city. At this time, dozens of warships of various sizes were moored in the Weihaiwei naval port, but most of them were torpedo boats with a displacement of tens of tons. The six warships, each several hundred tons, were gunboats produced in Britain: Zhenbian, Zhenzhong, Zhendong, Zhenxi, Zhennan, and Zhenbei. All six gunboats were improved Rendel-class gunboats ordered by the British Armstrong Company. They had a displacement of 430 tons, a horsepower of 350, a speed of 10 knots, a length of 38.71 meters, a beam of 8.84 meters, a draft of 2.87 meters, and were armed with one 279 mm main gun and two 75 mm guns. The crew consisted of 54 men. Several larger warships were transport ships of the Beiyang Fleet, namely the Haijing, Caojiang, and Zhenhai. There were also some auxiliary vessels, such as small steamboats with a displacement of about ten tons. The main force of the Beiyang Fleet, including the "Eight Great Yuan" warships led by Dingyuan and Zhenyuan, was not docked in Weihaiwei, but was at the Beiyang Fleet's Lushun naval base at the time. There is also a small shipyard next to the port, but because the two docks are not large, it can only repair ships under 1,000 tons. Not far from the dock and port is a large town called Weihaiwei. The Weihaiwei Naval Academy, which the Beiyang Fleet was preparing to build, was located in Weihaiwei. A considerable number of the residents of Weihaiwei were personnel and their families of the Beiyang Fleet. Lin Daxin walked into Weihaiwei City and soon arrived at the gate of a courtyard house. He took out a key from his pocket, unlocked the door, and walked into the courtyard. This two-courtyard house was newly bought by Lin Daxin's father. Lin Daxin's father usually lived on a warship or at his home on Liugong Island. For some reason, Lin Daxin did not want to live at his father's home on Liugong Island. In addition, Lin Daxin was arranged to study at the Naval Academy, which was located in Weihaiwei City. Therefore, his father bought this courtyard house in Weihaiwei City. Lin Daxin had just arrived in Weihaiwei from Fujian alone, and he was the only one living in the courtyard house at the moment. After entering the courtyard, Lin Daxin closed the gate and went to the east wing of the backyard. The ring allows him to travel between two time periods, which fills Lin Daxin with curiosity about the world more than 100 years in the future. Lin Daxin decides to go and see the world more than 100 years in the future, but he needs to prepare some things before he goes.
