Chapter 1: The WarningThe first thing they told me when I arrived on campus was simple.“Don’t go near Block C.”I laughed when I heard it.Every university has its rumors. Every hostel has its scary stories. I didn’t believe any of it.Until I met him.My suitcase hit the ground with a loud thud as I struggled through the crowded hostel corridor. Girls were shouting, doors were slamming, and somewhere in the distance someone was playing loud music like rules didn’t exist here.“New girl?” a voice asked behind me.I turned. She was short, dark-skinned, and looked like she had already survived ten semesters of secrets.“Yes,” I said, adjusting my bag. “I’m looking for Room 18.”Her face changed immediately. That small smile she had disappeared.“Room 18…” she repeated slowly.“Is it far?”She hesitated, then pointed down the corridor.“Last door. But listen… stay away from Block C.”I rolled my eyes slightly. “Why? Is it haunted?”She didn’t laugh.“I’m serious.”Before I could ask more, she walked away like she regretted talking to me at all.I stood there for a moment, then dragged my luggage forward.Last door. Room 18.The hallway got quieter the further I walked. The noise from the other rooms faded, replaced by something heavier… like silence that didn’t belong in a hostel. Then I saw it.Block C.The paint on the walls was slightly darker here. The lights flickered even though the rest of the hostel was fine. And right at the corner, a group of girls stood whispering like they were afraid the walls had ears.I was about to pass when one of them grabbed my arm.“Are you crazy?” she hissed.I frowned. “Excuse me?”She leaned closer. “That room you’re going to… Room 18?”“Yes.”Her eyes widened.“That’s his side.”I pulled my arm back. “Whose side?”She didn’t answer.Instead, she slowly pointed. And that was when I saw him.Leaning against the wall outside Block C, dressed completely in black like he owned silence itself. He wasn’t doing anything. Just standing there. But somehow, everyone avoided his direction like he was a warning sign.Dark hair. Calm face. No smile. And then—He looked at me.Just one look. But it felt like he already knew my name… and every mistake I was going to make.“Don’t talk to him,” the girl whispered again. But it was too late.Because he had already started walking toward me.
