Lena Roberto gave her heart to Trey Carter, only to have him shatter it without a second thought. Betrayed, discarded, and left to reconstruct herself from nothing, she made a vow never to be that weak again. But fate had other plans. A violent accident stole her memory, placing her in the hands of Trey's two best friends: Killian, the impossibly obsessive fighter with a dark past, and Nathan, the charismatic protector who never shows his emotions.

CHAPTER 1
Lena's POV I came home a little earlier than usual, still dressed from the office, the smell of coffee and paper clinging to my skin. Today is special—it's our six-month wedding anniversary. I will surprise Trey with a candlelit dinner, simple but intimate. He's been distant lately, preoccupied, but I just kept telling myself that it was only work stress. I had set the table carefully, placing the candles, dimming the lights just so. I could smell the aroma of the steak he loved, but as I sat down for just a moment, exhaustion overcame me. I staggered over to the sofa and leaned against it, just to close my eyes. It was the slamming open of the front door that brought me instantly awake. My heart leaped with excitement. **He's home.** "Trey," I said softly, sitting up. I glanced at the clock—9:30 p.m. He was late, but he was here, and that was all that mattered. I turned to him with a warm smile, but his face was cold, unreadable. His sharp jaw was clenched, and his dark eyes held no warmth. A shiver ran down my spine. "You're home," I said, taking a step forward, but he held up a hand, halting me. "Yeah." His tone was even as he shrugged out of his coat and reached into his briefcase. An uncomfortable silence settled between us. Something was wrong. Then, he pulled out a brown envelope and held it out to me. My eyebrows furrowed as I took it with shaking hands. "What's this?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. He let out a sharp sigh, turning his head away. "Open it." Dread twisted in my stomach. I worked the envelope open with shaking fingers and yanked out a sheaf of papers. I don't know how I knew what to look for, but my eyes flicked to the bold letters at the top. **Petition for Divorce.** I caught my breath. My knees were suddenly shaky, and I moved back a step. My fingers wrapped tightly around the letter, as if holding it would make it disappear. "Trey…" My voice broke, my eyes welling up with unshed tears. "What… what is this?" He finally looked up at me, his face expressionless, but his next words killed me. "I want a divorce." I gave a strangled laugh, shaking my head. "This isn't funny." My heart was hammering in my chest, refusing to believe what it was hearing. "Trey, this is a joke, right?" His lips curved into a scornful smirk. "Do I look like I'm joking? " I blinked quickly, trying to process, to breathe. The Trey my soul had so selfishly owned his heart to—he who vowed with his hand laid on mine: forever—he of the warm regards—now turned to stand with everything and walked away like those things did nothing. "Trey… please." My voice broke as I reached out for him, but he jerked back as if my touch burned him. "I'm done, Lena." His voice was bitter, tinged with loathing. "I'm done with this… with **you**. I wish I never married you in the first place." The words stabbed through me, and I was left breathless. I staggered backward, clenching the papers to my chest as if they could shield me from the pain. "No… you don't mean that," I managed to choke out, my tears falling freely now. "Trey, please, we can fix this." "There's nothing to fix." His gaze was stone-cold. "I should have never come back to you." His words cut deeper than any blade could. Memories of us as kids, stealing kisses under the old oak tree, flashed through my mind. How he held me like I was his safest place. How we found each other again after so many years apart. How he swore he'd never leave me. And now, here we are. "Trey, I love you," I whispered desperately into his ear. "I just can't live without you." Tears fell from my face like a stream as I clutched the fabric of his shirt, with my hands shaking. My heart was breaking into pieces, but that didn't matter as I would not let him go. "Trey, please," I wept, my voice was raspy from crying. "Tell me what I did wrong. Tell me what I'm lacking, and I'll change! I'll do anything—just don't do this." His eyes didn't flinch, like my pain didn't bother him at all. He let out a heavy sigh, shaking his head in frustration. "Lena, stop humiliating yourself," he growled, yanking my hands off him.You didn't do anything wrong-it's just I don't love you. I never did." His words slapped me harder than if he had hit me. I choked on my breath as I stared at him in incredulity. "N-No… That's not true," I whispered, shaking my head violently. "You loved me. I know you did! What about all the times you held me? The way you kissed me? The nights we spent together— " Trey snorted, cutting me off. "What about them?" He sneered at me, his eyes black. "You really thought those times meant anything to me?" He let out a cold laugh. "Lena, you were just convenient." I gasped, my whole body shaking. My knees weakened, but I kept myself standing, grabbing the arm of the couch to hold me up. "Even last night?" My voice came out in a whisper, barely audible. Trey smirked, leaning in until his breath fanned my face. His scent—once comforting—now made me sick. "Especially last night," he whispered. A strangled sob tore from my lips. My heart felt like it was being ripped apart, but before I could step back, Trey snatched my wrist and yanked me closer. My eyes widened as his lips crashed against mine. It wasn't a kiss full of love or tenderness, but hard, demanding, and dominating. His fingers dug into my waist as he pulled me up against his hard chest. For a moment, I melted against him; my body betrayed me. The familiar warmth of his touch, the taste of his lips—everything made me forget all this, until he pulled away. Trey's lips curled into a taunting smirk as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. "See? That's all you're good for, Lena. A body I can use when I want," he said coldly. "Nothing more." My stomach twisted painfully and bile rose in my throat. How could he say this? How could he do this? I reached out to catch him, but he jerked back, yanking his coat. "I'll send someone over to get my things," he said, pretending to be casual. "Just be sure to sign the papers within the week." I dropped to my knees, my hands clutching the hem of his shirt. "Please, Trey, don't leave. I promise-I'll be a good wife. I'll be whatever you want me to be." His curiosity, his jaw clenched, his fingers twitching as if he wanted to push me away but was forcing himself not to touch me. "Let go of me, Lena." His voice was clipped, his patience wearing thin. "Trey—" "You **disgust** me." His words were like a knife to my heart. My hands loosened their grip, falling limply to my sides. Trey took advantage of the space to step back, his face expressionless as he turned toward the door. He reached for the handle but stopped when he heard my fractured whisper. "I won't sign the papers." He turned a little, a hint of amusement dancing in his dark eyes. "Oh?" He snorted, shaking his head. "Still holding onto your illusions?" I swallowed hard, wiping the tears from my face. My chest hurt, but I forced my voice to be steady. "You still love me," I said with conviction. "You can lie all you want, Trey, but I know you do." His smirk faltered for a fraction of a second—so quick that I almost missed it. Then, without another word, he pulled the door open and walked out, his footsteps echoing in the empty hallway
