Chapter-1 +Author's Note
"Hey Dia, Watch out. There is a big spider. You will step onto that." Nash, a twelve-year-old boy, said to Diana, who was a year younger than him. Nash and Diana are childhood friends and, so, their parents also share a special bond between themselves.
"No! I won't Nash. Why do you always worry about me so much?!" Diana, who was in her modern dress rather than her royal dress, replied to Nash while showing him a little annoyed face.
"I will, Dia, because you are my childhood friend and I can't see you getting hurt by something or someone." Nash, saying this, started to approach Diana.
"AHHH NASH! Why do you always call me by this nickname? I don't like it at all. So, it would be better if you would call me Diana only."
"Why? It's so cool to call you by the name Dia. In fact, I think Mom and Dad should also call you by this name only!"
"NOT AGAIN NASH!!" She said this by holding Nash's hand and revolving it around his waist.
"By the way Dia, why do you want to go to Thailand? I mean it's so good in Venice. Here only Shakespeare's play MERCHANT OF VENICE started." Nash said this by bringing Diana more close to him, like if they were hugging each other.
"Nash, don't try to sugarcoat me with your knowledge of literature. I want to study management in Thailand and here, Mom, Dad, don't let me study that but they are forcing me to practice the way of living in royal families."
"There you can go when you are an adult. For now, it will be better if you listen to your parents. It's for your own safety only," Nash said, while taking her long hair in his one hand.
"Stop it Nash! I am tired of living here. You, too, don't understand me." Diana said this while taking off Nash's hand from her hair.
Meanwhile, both their mothers arrived in the garden and saw Nash and Diana talking to each other.
"See Annie, How they are talking to each other! I hope they will stay together in the future too."
[Annie is Nash's mother and Cordelia is Diana's mother.]
"Mom!! See Nash is again calling me that boring nickname." Diana said this while running towards her mother with it. Nash too followed her.
Cordelia, while hugging her daughter, said, "It's alright dear. In fact, I myself like this nickname."
To which Annie replied, "Nash stop calling Diana like that. If she doesn't like it, and Diana, you already have a perfect name , there is no need to have nicknames."
"Mom , but I like calling her differently. She is my childhood friend, so, I will call her Dia only."
Before anyone could say anything more, one of the servants came and informed them about Joseph and Andrew's arrival and they were calling them for dinner.
[Joseph is Nash's Father and Andrew is Diana's Father]
Listening to this, Annie said, "Let's go inside otherwise they will start their annoying gossip about us." Hearing this, Nash and Diana started laughing, looking at each other and keeping their hands on their lips so that Annie and Cordelia couldn't hear it.
As all of them went inside the villa and in the dining room hall, they saw Joseph and Andrew sitting on the chair and talking to each other. When they noticed Nash, Diana, Annie and Cordelia coming towards them, both stopped talking and Andrew said,
"See they are here, and we were waiting for you all. Now come and have some food, then we will tell you something exciting!"
To which Cordelia replied, "And what is that exciting news?"
"First let us have some food and then we will tell you", Joseph said.
While they were eating, Joseph said, "We are going to Thailand."
To which Annie replied, a little surprisingly, "Really!? That's so great. In fact, Diana always wanted to go there!"
Meanwhile, Cordelia was not happy with the announcement. She said, "Why are we going there so suddenly? I don't want Diana to go there. It's better we would all go and Diana will stay here. There is a maid to take care of her if anything is needed."
Hearing her mother's decision, Diana became angry and, in a furious tone, she said,"Mom! Why don't you let me go to Thailand? I want to go there and if you don't permit Dad, definitely will take me. This time, I will not listen to you."
To which Cordelia replied, "Andrew, tell your daughter that she will not go to Thailand and stay in Venice itself."
Andrew was clueless about what to say next. He just agreed to Cordelia. Where Nash was noticing the anger in Diana's eyes.
Diana stood up from the chair and said,"Fine! If that is both of your decision , I am going to my room. Don't bring food to my room. I am not hungry, nor come to talk to me in my room." Saying this she went away from there in anger.
On the other hand, Andrew and Joseph went to company informing their wives that they would be back at night.
In Cordelia's room , Annie arrived with a glass of juice and said, "Cordelia, why are you not letting Diana come with us? In fact, Thailand is her favorite place. See she has not eaten anything since morning."
"Let her do whatever she wants, but she will not go to Thailand. This is my final decision. No more discussion on this."
Annie, handing her the glass of juice, said, "Okay stubborn lady, Can I leave Nash too here with Diana? So she will not feel lonely."
"I was thinking the same, but then he will not be able to enjoy his vacation."
"Don't worry! I asked him if he wanted to stay here with Diana. Then he said he would, as he himself wanted to stay with her only." Annie said with a cheerful smile on her face.
To which Cordelia replied,"Honestly, Nash is a very good boy. He always takes care of my Diana. I hope in future they don't create any misunderstandings which will make them apart."
As they were both chatting in Diana's room, she was playing the guitar. Whenever she gets upset or angry, she plays guitar to release her emotions.
[Here ends our first chapter.]
